Amend the Constitution for Arnold

If the Gropinator were a Democrat would they consider amending? At the link - click on contact and tell them your thoughts. How do you feel about amending the Constitution to allow foreign born to run for President? I'm against mucking around with the Constitution at this time. Maybe in the future - I don't know.

1. Republicans running out of marketable people?

Seems they can only run grade B actors and neer-do-wells for President. Whatever happened to people who spent their years in public service?

I know one thing, my dad's generation who fought and died in Europe to stop fascism would be rolling in their graves if they could see that this Republican Party's best hope is running the son of a Nazi for President in 2008.

2. I was talking with my family about this this weekend...

....and 200+ years ago, the 'natural-born' citizen requirement made sense. We were a young country and didn't want someone from England, Spain, France, etc., coming here and becoming President.

I don't think it's as much of an issue today. However, amending it for Ahnold is disgraceful.

On the bright side, tho, we got Gov. Granholm in MI.

I dont think that amendment would get passed, I dont think the majority of the republicans want it done either. Mainly because it would open up for any foreign born citizen to run, and in the future it could really come back and bite us in the ass.
