Is Harry Reid the right Dem leader? |
|
Personally, I'd rather see someone who's more left and more of a fighter. We don't need someone who's too "polite" right now ... or we'll get mowed down.

|

(see separate thread) but I just don't understand how they can't see the writing on the wall ... * is NOT going to play nice with them; it's only going to get WORSE, not better. (I think * wants to be "The Dividerator".)

Question: Does the Democratic party exist anymore -- or is it just us that haven't gotten the word?

8. Why do you think they had a closed door session? |
|
I bet there was arm-twisting to get people to vote for Reid.

Coming from a red state made it really easy for the Repugs to pick off Daschle. It's like they're desperate not to appear like a "Northeastern elitist party" ... just like they're ashamed of calling themselves liberals. This shame b.s. has got to go!

5. He can manage fillibusters brillantly |
|
That's all the power we've got right now. Also Durbin will be the public face. I read that on Kos. I'm more concerned about the friggin' fight brewing about who will head the DNC.
Now that's a fight worth getting into. We need someone to be the voice of the grassroots.
Hell Yea! Bring it On!

Stabenow of MI will be #3
Bush just won Nevada barely. Reid won it by a far larger margin.

10. Reid sounds like a "sellout" Dem, a la Lieberman and Daschle |
|
so I expect the senate Dems to fall flat on their faces when they should be fighting bush.

Reid is not a sellout Democrat.
Thanks to Reid, Jeffords bolted the Republicans, giving the Dems the majority, the only one they have had since 1994.
I don't call that effort, which Reid gets as much credit for as Bush, the act of someone who plays along.
Frankly, if Feinstein were as reliable as Reid, we'd be in great shape here in California.
