We better see some fight come out of the confirmation hearings.

Do you think we will?

Who will lead the fight?

Do you think anyone will?

1. Not a real fight
but an attempt to get her failures and lack of any real experience out on the record......she will be confirmed with as much embarrassment as we can muster.....

2. I expect hard questioning, but no filibuster.
Gotta save it for other, more important confirmations.

Let's face it, Bush doesn't need the Socy of State to enforce his hardline agenda. Look what happened with Powell in charge.

3. The Fightin' Democrats!
We will see the Democrats fight to the death to oppose these cynical, sick nominations --

-- and then we'll wake up to realize we were all dreaming.

5. One person's failure, is another person's "Mission Accomplished"
Really, the PNAC'le club could never have gotten us into this war without her help.....

6. Wexler steps up!!! Nice!
Wexler's press release I just found:

“As National Security Advisor, Dr. Rice repeatedly failed to make America more secure. She disregarded numerous pleas to deal with the threat of terrorism, failed to focus on Osama Bin Laden and blatantly ignored the critical memo entitled “Bin Laden Determined to Attack the US.” Leading up to the invasion of Iraq, Rice blatantly misled the nation about the justification to go to war in Iraq and acted with both incompetence and haste in utilizing questionable intelligence concerning Saddam’s WMD programs.”

8. Didn't read the NIE. You know, the one that made the case for war.....
... with Iraq? By all accounts, she never even read the whole thing (all 90-some-odd pages of it; how'd she ever get a doctorate?). This is how she maintained deniability in being able to say things like "the aluminum tubes are really ONLY suitable for uranium enrichment".

You know, here's the NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER to the president, and she DOESN'T EVEN READ the synopsis of the threat to our NATIONAL SECURITY posed by the nation we're contemplating going to war with based on that threat. Or at least, if she read it, she did a pretty piss-poor job of it, since it CLEARLY said there were other uses for the aluminum tubes (along with saying many other things that directly contradicted her absolutist assertions).

Then she says she DIDN'T SEE the memos from Tenet, and DOESN'T REMEMBER the CALL from him. You know, the ones repeatedly trying to warn her to have the president remnove the Niger-Uranium claim from the 2003 State of the Union address? Then, she claims that "maybe someone down in the bowels of the agency" knew there were doubts about the claim. Yeah, like the DIRECTOR?! Who REPEATEDLY contacted your office!? By PHONE and E-MAIL!?

Her own statements prior to the Iraq War revealed her to be either INCOMPETENT or a bald-faced LIAR. Those are really the only two options here.

9. to do worse
we'd all pretty much have to be either dead or speaking Farsi

But from teh bushgan'g point of view, with their priorities, she did a perfect job. They got all they wanted and more.

I don't have much faith in the courage or conviction of the congressional democrats by and large.

10. you have the wrong definition of failure
It's not the definition you will find in Webster. It doesn't matter how incompetent you are or how poorly you do your job. Lie, steal, and cheat all you want, just don't get caught. If you FAIL to keep your mouth shut and FAIL to be a blind, deaf and dumb sycophant, then you are a FAILURE. Especially if you reveal anything critical, then expect the entire force of the FBI, IRS, and CIA to be unleashed against you, along with the minions of Faux and MSRNC.

12. Our guys haven't fought her for four years...
what makes you think they will start now?

We have let her get away with murder - almost literally. Instead of being impeached, she is going to be confirmed by a mile, and some of our party "leaders" are going to vote for her.
