In Breaking News, The Director of the Gestapo
In a memo directs the agency "that it is our job to support the policies of the administration".

In related news, the Director of the KGB writes that "it is the job of the agency to support the policies of the administration."

Meanwhile, the American News Agency, GOPAC, in a story on Faux News, finds that "this is perfectly acceptable for the CIA to also support the policies of the administration given their 51% "mandate". Said Rush Limbaugh, "any opposition to the new CIA directors "mandate" is simply sour grapes by communist, liberal, terrorist sympathizers who hate god and our freedom." He also added, "what's the big deal, we own the military, now we own the CIA, I just don't get it folks. I mean, I'm just a harmless little fuzzball. Anyone who thinks there is some nefarious plot to use the CIA to weed out the insurgents in this country must just hate us for our freedom."

I thought when I saw the news story today about the Goss memo that "the Onion" had finally gone mainstream. This is some scary shit.

A couple of questions: Does this mean that in 4 years when * is gone, everyone at the CIA will be fired?, or does it mean that this admin never intends to go anywhere? President for life! After all, who wants to change horses in midstream, and since there is no end to the war on terror, I guess there will be no end to this admin.

1. This here is our policy. This here is our intel. Jim, your job,
should you choose to accept it, is to make the latter fit the former.

The secretary will disavow all knowledge of your actions. Editing, ignoring contrary data, black pencils, and manufacturing of evidence all tools at your disposal.

2. re: your point, President for life
I wouldn't be surprised to see talk start of a constitutional amendment to abolish the outdated concept of term limits. "He's the best president ever, if someone is doing a good job, why shouldn't they be able to run again, will there be a suitable replacement who can sucker so many Americans and guarantee the fundi vote? can't change horses in a time of perpetual war..."

in parliamentary democracies, dynasties are not uncommon - 20+ years for Mackenzie King in Canada, Trudeau was what 68-82, Chretien had a good decade...

wouldn't be surprised to see some kind of terrorist act on US soil to support the argument. George is young enough to be King for a while.

at the end of Clinton's 8 years, many Democrats THOUGHT about the idea, and Clinton was popular enough to possibly pull it off.

thing is as we have learned, what Democrats may only think about

Republicans DO.

5. Yes, and they will argue that since FDR won 4 terms
why not the boy king?

Is anyone else out here having the piss scared out of them because they are not even trying to hide what they are doing?

On a separate note, did you see the post the other day about the Republican Freedom Calendar? At first I thought it was a French Calendar and they were just changing the name, but NO! A whole fricking calendar that tries to make the point that Repukes were all for civil rights and the right for woman to vote and that IT WAS OBSTRUCTIONIST DEMOCRATS THAT GOT IN THE WAY?

Jeebus, we haven't just fallen through the looking glass, we've taken a "Cheneying sledgehammer to it". I thought it was bad enough when Rush and all the Rushbots began converting JFK and FDR to Republicans, but they won't be satisfied until every American is marching in lockstep with them.

WE NEED TO FIGHT WITH THE ONLY POWER WE HAVE LEFT....THE POWER OF OUR POCKETBOOKS!

4. That's right- it's not about TRUTH anymore, boys...it's about
saying whatever the president tells us to say.

Tell me again why we ever bother giving these guys billions upon billions?

You know, that could be an AWESOME talking point for us- why are we spending billions on the CIA if they're not even doing the work, only saying what Bush wants them to say?
