Is it possible? Is it worthy of my time? Is it worthy of the long commitment and public scrutiny that I could possible face? Sure is, and i'm here to prove it.
I'm here to announce that sometime in the future - 16-20 years from now you will hear of myself -
Byron Miller - as Running for the President of the United states.
Just who am I and what will I be doing? You can follow my strides to political prowess at
http://www.byronmiller.org. I will be greatly enhancing the site and linking it to the many progressive and democratic efforts and events that I am focusing on.
I welcome your comments, your suggestions and your feedback.
Why the long wait? I'm a young person, only 28. I have a lot of work ahead of me in winning over the red states, I have a lot of work in portraying my values, my ideology and proving myself as the simple person I am. I don't have a wealthy family, an Ivy League school or alma mater to fall on. I have my upbringing, my beliefs, and my values to represent and I want to prove these to all Americans and show to the world how a person like myself can grow to be a great leader, learning from life, learning from mistakes and making the best of what he can as the person he is.
I grew up in the tough times of the ever-changing education system of the 80’s and 90’s, I grew up making good and bad decisions and living with the ramifications of them. I grew up knowing that I needed to do better for myself, my friends and my family and most importantly I found that the progressive and liberal beliefs of those who entrusted me and fostered me have helped me get to where I am today as a successful and happily married family man with a beautiful daughter.
I’ve made mistakes - I have to live with them, accept them and will proudly speak of them. There is only shame in not admitting to yourself what has made you the person you are.
I want to my the presidency of the democratic systems and beliefs that have helped me to become who I am today, and I want to prove to all Americans that the dream is alive and well and that each and every one of us can truly become who we aspire to be and that we don’t have to accept the status quo as something to fear but something to achieve and define for ourselves, our country and our world.
I will further my education with my constituents, I will travel the country and meet my constituents, I will volunteer, work and start businesses and foster ideas, exchanges of information and debates with my constituents.
I am here America. I believe in you America. I believe in the voice of reason, the voice of dignity and the voice of compassion that we have to strive to do better for ourselves, for the world and for this place we call home. Progressive Democracy isn’t an agenda - it’s a vision for the future.
Have to start somewhere, so i figured i would post my aspirations here and get the ball rolling :)
