Anybody else get the letter from John Kerry? |
|
I got it yesterday, a one pager, thank you, etc....no logos on it, but at the bottom a discrete "Paid for by the Democratic National Committee". Less discrete was the envelope tucked inside for sending cash to the DNC. I'm half a mind to use the envelope and their postage to tell them that the well is dry until they get their act together....

The letter made me cry.
And the envelope pissed me off too. Good idea. I think I've still got it in the recycling pile... I may have to dig it out and write them a little note.

Yes - Ask them about the $45 million |
|
http://www.wjla.com/headlines/1104/184576.html11/1/2004 President Bush and Sen. John Kerry finished their primary campaigns with millions of dollars in the bank that could help cover the cost of a possible recount.
Kerry had about $45 million in leftover money that he could transfer to the Democratic Party for that purpose, while Bush had $16 million that could go to the GOP, the nonpartisan Center for Public Integrity watchdog group said Monday

23. It will be used to pay the grossly inflated salaries . . . . . |
|
. . .of Mary Beth Fucking Cahill and the other useless pieces of shit that not only screwed up a 'can't lose' campaign in concert with the main candidate, but now aren't using the 'recount war-chest' to pursue voting irregularities! HOW DARE THEY ASK FOR MORE?!!!

4. So... no more money until they win? |
|
That's a bit of a catch-22.
Now should be the time for us, the people, to make sure we run the Democratic Party. It is more important to give money to the Democratic Party now than ever.
Firstly, without money, they can't compete with the GOP. Secondly, without money from us, they'll be forced to scrounge around for corporate money.

6. Money is not the problem,... |
|
... or we would have won this election.
People is the problem, specifically the leadership of the party.
I would not waste another dime on the likes of McAuliffe or Brazil, they couldn't get it with Fort Knox at their disposal.

"Money is not the problem"
We gave them more money than they've ever had, I gave until it hurt. Still it was not enough.
We need more and better think tanks. We need Air America to be in every city. We need a cable news network of our own to oppose Fox's propaganda. Without these we will remain out of the White House for a very long time.

... we need all these things.
Plus we need to stop letting Iowa and New Hampshire pick our candidate.
And we need to get the dinosaurs, who have not adapted to the new realities of American politics, out of the leadership of our party.

12. Proof of spine will do |
|
Just show me some spine so I can have hope for victory. Maybe I'd write a check then.
"I stand shoulder to shoulder with pResident Bush" has finally quit ringing in my ears. Now I need to see some spine.

15. Well, I obviously have high hopes |
|
Unfortunately, spine isn't going to be enough to derail the GOP the next few years, with their substantial Senate majority and ruthless House majority.
But I fully expect us to actually be an opposition party. This isn't 2002 any more.

5. Didn't get it yet but I have plans for the envelope! |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-17-04 12:37 PM by proudbluestater
I plan on writing them a nasty note, telling them Kerry sits on 51 million dollars versus Al Gore's leftover estimated 3 million in 2000 and they let David COBB of the Green Party beg for donations for recounts to ensure America has a FAIR election.
I am also writing the DNC at their website shortly to demand that the money I sent be given for RECOUNTS.
I don't care if Kerry wins. I want a RELIABLE election system in this country, one that can be depended on. David Corn has "thousands of reports" of problems with voting. He just reported this on the show Democracy Now.
I will never support the Democrats again if they don't cut lose with some cash to fund these recounts.

25. Letter said same thing as the email soooo |
|
why didn't they just donate the postage money to send all those letters (that went in the circular file anyways) to the recount and audit efforts?? That would have earned my respect. I've already sent two scathing emails to the DNC urging them to donate the funds needed for recounts and audits and for them to join the effort to save our democracy.

10. I'm thinking of sending a letter in the envelope that says, |
|
"It's not bi-partisanship if Dems are on their knees. When it becomes clear that our Congresspersons all get this, I will include money in this envelope. I donated money to Kerry because he seemed to understand it. I'll be watching C-Span to see if if it applies to the rest of them."

24. I agree with everything you wrote |
|
But the way Kerry conceded makes me believe that maybe he didn't get it after all. Even if the fight was, in the end, futile, how many times did he promise that he would fight that fight for us? How many times did we hear about 10,000 lawyers?
How supremely depressing his candidacy turned out to be.

Do you suppose it's because I told them in the feedback that I won't send them another nickel until they can figure out how we lost to D'oh-bya?

I won't give them one red cent until they start fighting, big time not just symbolically, against bbvs and the Repuke vote rigging machine in general. Unless they do that we will lose over and over.

22. What did the letter say and |
|
could there be a "read between the lines" message if read with another perspective. Also, the media is reporting how much money Kerry allegedly has left. How can we trust the on that if we can't trust them to report on voter fraud? The link to the article stating how much money Kerry has left was written when? It say "updated" on Nov. 1st. How much has the fleet of lawyers in Ohio alone cost for the past 15 days? So many of you are angry that Kerry conceded. I know how you feel because I experienced the same anger when Clark dropped (2 days after sending him another 100 bucks and he said he was going to wait until the next round of primaries). I was ABB after that and didn't get on board with Kerry until after he wiped the floor with Bush in the 1st debate. I was angry with him at first but now I prefer to hope that he conceded just to make the perpetrators of fraud complacent ( and hopefully sloppy). I think it's extremely important to stay positive about Kerry's promise to count every vote. Positive energy attracts the same and we need as much as we can get if we are going to discover what has truly been going on concerning these elections. There is no place for a defeatist attitude if you want to succeed.
