sucks. If I see Pelosi grinning wide for the cameras or hear Al franken talk about 2008 I'm going to be sick. I believe our democratic leadership has FAILED us & continues to fail us. There is no vigor, no guts, just desperate fools trying to hang on to their precious seat or hope-to-be-nomination.

I am not advocating anything crazy, just a strong unified voice of dissent. THis board is beautiful because the hardcore believers speak with one voice (different opinions granted), but we have nothing representative on TV, in the house, senate or dnc. that even closely resembles the passion & brutal honesty with which DU/online debates are conducted & broken down.

As much as I became a believer this year, I am starting to long for some radical thinking... not changing our values to appease southerners, but some clear (non-smirking, non-passive) determined leadership who knows that it is not just about values or strategy, but ACKNOWLEDGING corruption in our political system. The proof is there, but the stench of DENIAL has permeated the air.

1. I kind of feel some genuine impatience too.
I think I am going to e-mail the DNC, and tell them, "No money for you. It's going to Howard Dean's Democracy for America. I want you to sit down and think about why."

DU has really saved me - just communicating about the devastating loss on 11/2 helps.

2. That stink goes by the initials "DLC"
Those are the campaign losers who have been dragging the party to the right, as though a pallid imitation of a Repuglican will sell better than the real thing does.

Just as Bush is arrogantly sealing himself into his neocon echo chamber, the DLC seems to be sealing the fate of the Democratic Party by appointing milksops and DINOs all over the place.

Dean is no wild eyed radical, and he's certainly more conservative than I am, but he was our best hope to oust these conservative hacks and breathe some life back into the party.

Right now, it's moribund. May it rest in pieces.
