Remember That Picture Of The Kerry Rally In Madison, Wisconsin ........
with the wall to wall people for as far as the eye can see. Well somebody should Photoshop it and take out all the people and have Kerry standing on the stage addressing the empty streets. Then they should send it to the Kerry people and let them know that Kerry going out without a fight in 2004 will have this scene in 2008 if he decides to run again. I can't help but feel sad for all of
those (us) that have supported his candidacy and now feel let down because it appears that he has not lived up to his end of the
bargain and counted all the votes. I firmly believe that this election was stolen right out from under him. I am trying hard to believe that something is going on behind the scenes that we're not privy to.

3. Votes are still being counted
Why do you say he has not "counted all the votes"? Do you want him to do the job himself?

It is being done.

We are in a frustrating and depressing situation. But we shouldn't take out our anger on each other.

10. I'm sorry but this is discouraging ...
$50 MILLION dollars the Kerry camp is not using to help with the count/recount effort ?

Doesn't sound to me like Kerry really WANTS to be President ...

19. I agree and will keep typing same
I was saddened to see "some" of the DUers tearing into each other, the party, Kerry...whoever. On the one hand, I understand that they are dealing with "Loss" (with a capital L), and are going through the 5 stages of grief, but it would be nicer to see it done in a way that doesn't de-value others and/or their opinions. I esp. am disheartened to read how "some" folks are sounding like they'll walk from the party because they're PO'ed at Kerry and/or the DNC. Lose and then give up? We don't know the whole story yet on post-election Kerry and voting irregularities. Also, Kerry lost by a nose (or a chin, in his case). Remember Mondale? How about Dukakis? THOSE were depressing losses....landslide losses, where they had piles of mud burying them at the bottom of the deepest national gorge. Ugh!

4. If he runs in 2008
Hes certainly got my vote. I don't regret anything about this campaign, other than the fact that they couldn't get their message across to the voters better than these dirt throwers.

12. I would suggest you watch the video again

Realmedia (45:00)

Kerry has done what he could. He kicked ass. It was not a mandate..3% difference in an election is close.

We were gamed by Diebold. We can't count air and actually say that these invisible, untraceable votes somehow can be counted. Exit polls are not actual votes, no matter how many times someone tells you that they indicate a Kerry win.

The votes are being counted now. Even as they are counted, you have to eventually come to the probable conclusion that we will probably not have enough traceable votes that would change the outcome of the election. If the votes are counted and the outcome changes, then you can bet I will be celebrating.

I put in a LOT of work and time in the election and was confident that we were going to win. It has been heartbreaking to see what has happened over two weeks ago.

We have to look at the 2006 elections, changing and working on election reform, voter reform and political ad/campaign finance reform. Let's not squander the energy we had on Election Day with a circular firing squad.

13. Don't blame Kerry
I volunteered at the Kerry Rally in Madison Wisconsin where there were a reported 80,000 people in attendance on a weekday. Far more than the 30,000 who showed up to see Gore 4 years ago, more enthusiastic. If we believed so strongly that he was qualified to run this country for 4-8 years can we not find it in ourselves to believe that there is a strategy behind how he is behaving right now? He is a shrewd man.

It was not Kerry who was cheated on Nov.2- it was the American people.

Far better that the movement to recount and investigate comes from the ground up than from the candidate. If Kerry got out there and insisted on a recount himself that did not turn out his way, wouldn't it make the Democrats look even more pathetic than we already do?

If nothing at all were happening I would agree with you, but something is happening.

14. I think there is certainly something going on.
As I said in an earlier post... just because you don't physically see it doesn't mean it isn't happening.

I'm also going to toss out another thought here.

I think it's same to assume that here at DU, there are plenty of posters who are involved with the Kerry Campaign- some closer than others. If people come here guarenteeing that something is going on under the radar, it might be true. They may not write it out directly because there are lurkers here. The last thing we need are repug lurkers watching the infighting. Trust in Kerry that he is not just sitting on the money donated for the recounts. Don't go changing parties and vowing never to vote for Kerry again. It might take 18 months to prove the truth... put Nixon was out 18 months after her won re-election.

I still think and believe that John Kerry is an extra ordinary human being and politician. I do understand those people who have feelings of anger - but I would hope they direct it toward our goals as democrats.

There are ways of getting into those Diebold machines and having programmers read them. If the counts of other votes go the way I think they will in New Hampshire and then Ohio, it could prove fraud and voter intimidation tactics exists. Then - you move on to the next level.

In another post, I mentioned that Kerry has been in this game a long time - and if you've read his books, senate testimony, etc. then you would know he is the ultimate human being and deserves respect. He is and will always be the ultimate person - and perfect candidate for me.

I hope those of you on this board that are angry - express it - feel it - you have a right to these emotions. Then let's put it to work for all of our better good. :kick: :kick: :kick:
