Per the Associated Press most know that Pres. Bush nominated defense industry executive Francis J. Harvey as Secretary of the Army a couple of months back.
Today the Senate confirmed Pres. Bush's nomination.
What no media outlet has addressed to date when referring to his resume are his ties to The Carlyle Group; a group that didn't get played in a very good light in Fahrenheit 9/11 to say the least.
The L.A. Times/AP story:
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-roche17nov17,1,3906003.story?coll=la-headlines-nationThe Carlyle Group link you won't read anywhere else (if it's still there when you click on it):
http://www.bridgebank.com/downloads/pressrelease12.pdfThe key paragraph from that link, in case it disappears.
"Mr. Harvey is affiliated with The Carlyle Group, serving on the boards of three Carlyle controlled corporations. The Carlyle Group is a global private equity investment firm whose Chairman is Frank Carlucci, the Secretary of Defense for the George Bush administration. Other notable Partners of the Carlyle Group include James Baker, former Chief of Staff of the Regan administration, John Major, former Prime Minister of Britain, and Arthur Levitt, Jr., former Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission."
I wonder why this isn't in his resume and/or his bragging points? Maybe because it would look like what it is ... Pres. Bush pushing for someone else from his Good 'Ole Boy network. This time to head the most powerful Army in the world.
