27. get more evidence and expose the fraud |
|
If there was large scale fraud, the American people need to see the proof.
I think the reality is also that America's divide is huge and there are slightly more conservatives than liberals. Unfortunately they are breeding faster as well. I don't envy your task. I'm hoping education will work. I don't think America will be better served by having the Democrats move further left. You need to reach more out to reasonable moderates who may be scared off by the more left-wing fringe of the party.
Other than than, maybe secession would be an option?

47. Hmm, I don't think there are more conservatives |
|
than liberals. It just appears that way because the conservatives are better organized and get all the media attention.
Liberal, or progressives and even moderates need to get better at getting their message out. We're better at it now but we have a long way to go.
Conservatives have been working at getting control of the government for about 30 years while Democrats dozed.
Democrats can't gain control until they learn to be more assertive and vocal. You don't get anywhere by being nice all the time and turning the other cheek.

We need Air America in every American City and a cable news channel for Democratic spin. Without this we cannot "get better at getting the message out". Wealthy Republicans pay for Repug media outlets. We need our Wealthy Democrats to do the same. So far I don't see anyone stepping up to the plate.

That means we are free to do the same.
For example, I once held the view that one did not retaliate against the FAMILIES of one's political enemy. But since Rove went after Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame, I am now of theopinion that Rove's family is fair game too. Wife, kid, siblings, in-laws--you name it!

And it's so freeing. My blood pressure is lower, my house is cleaner, my children and husband are happier. It was the last show I made an effort to watch on cable news, and now I'm free from them all. Every now and then I turn the channels and happen to come across cable news, and it's like throwing up to remember not to drink.

Kerry campaign and when he told that to Mary Beth Cahill (he had been asked to do this by Kerry), she looked at him like he was crazy, said she would call him back and he never heard from her again. He was hurt, mad, etc. He told MB Cahill at that time that the campaign was "all over the place." He had already had one strategy session with the campaign trying to get them to focus on a message.
This info is from a Boston Globe article about the Kerry campaign.

and it could explain a lot of things. I didn't know Begala had been given the cold shoulder from Cahill but why did her wishes prevail over Kerry's request?
I don't know much about Cahill or if she's any good or not but I'm personally not that impressed with her. I do know that Begala helped get Bill Clinton elected and he's very good at what he does.
Campaign managers don't like anybody getting in their way and I think turf battles got in the way of a successful campaign.
Kerry was just listening to his handlers but in retrospect it looks like he shouldn't have.

|
Edited on Thu Nov-18-04 09:52 PM by Donna Zen
Begala has said many things that caused me to turn him off. The only advantage to watching him at all is getting the latest on the inside-the-beltway DLC/DNC buzz. Obviously, the message is moveon...nothing to see here.
The Dems operate as a series of "cliques" and yes, Begala is within the Hillary Clinton sphere. That is not bad by definition, but it does mean that the Dems will and do "eat" other Dems. Contrasted with repubs. who are centralized, all things eminate from the bush-cartel. Even before the absolute control of this dynastic evil, the center was held by money, spies, weapons and energy. Want money? Play ball or they will starve you out.
Begala eats Dems and he thinks he is correct to do so because the echo chamber told him to.
*ucker frames all questions with the worst Dem bashing, and Begala never, ever refutes the charges. In fact, Begala often laughs or supports the ridicule. When he is on with Novak, the seat may as well be empty.
I write nothing here that I have not written to Begala although with a more persuasive tone. I asked nicely for some changes, but I'm not waiting.
More and more as each day passes, I'm convinced that the Dems simply don't care about the base. So what does that make us?
