What makes anyone think there will be a presidential election in 2008?
We know the 2000 election was stolen and there's circumstantial evidence to indicate this one was stolen too.

Nonetheless, why would anyone assume that, given another four years, BushCo and their control of the other branches of government, won't just change the rules? And what's to prevent them from ignoring the constitution? After all, they've been ignoring it for the past four years.

The fascists are in total control and whether it's martial law, or just an executive order "postponing" the election, there's no reason to believe that we haven't seen the end of democracy.

WE THE PEOPLE has become a meaningless phrase. For all practical purposes, they can do whatever they want. And who's to stop them?

1. I've been saying that for quite a while...and with Jebbie bowing out...
...for 2008, that makes El Chimpo declaring himself "President for Life" all the more likely.

22. The 04 Elections Was EFFECTIVELY Cancelled. The Votes Weren't
counted and voters weren't allowed to cast their votes in many place in battleground states.

"No truly sophisticated proponent of repression would be stupid enough to shatter the facade of democratic institutions." Murray B. Levin

That's why.

They have to keep up the pretense, or it's all over. The dollar's
worthless, nobody does business with us. And after all these
bastards are all about business.

Nothing at all.....elections are over folks....at least for the forseeable future.
And with all due respect to those who think that the 2004 elections prove there will be more...should really look at the evidence and decide whether there was really was an election this year!

Slower minds....Please keep to the right!

9. Well, nothing wrong with that. With all the fundies snatched up to their
eternal reward, maybe those of us left behind can accomplish something related to sanity and reality.

20. "The fascists are in total control and"
so all those democrats in the legislative branch are fascists? How about the %49 who did not vote?

GIVE ME A BREAK!! There is real work to be done so stop rolling over and giving up. I am getting sick of seeing this baseless garbage we heard it all before the election and nothing happened. GET OVER IT MOVE ON.

I am really beginning to think that Dem's who go on about the "stolen election" and the "end is near" are either disruptors or people that need some help.

21. I'm not for all the "doom & gloom" but work remains to be done....
On that "stolen election" thing. Remember, they did it in clear view of the world back in 2000 & the media congratulated us on having a "peaceful transfer of power." Let's hope that detailed studies are continuing on what happened this year. It's not yet time to "move on."

Again, I'd like to express my gratitude to new DU'ers who are anxious for us to let certain topics drop. It means we're on the right track.
