Poll question: Does a political party represent people or a specific set of ideals? |
|

It's a simple question with what seems to me to be somewhat far reaching implications. Based on the discussion of whether the DLC is pushing the Democratic Party to become "Republicans Lite" by taking positions that reach toward the middle of the political spectrum.

Ideals of the people are central to their identity. Therefore, by representing their ideals, the party is representing them.

3. I also say both but from the perspective of supporting the people who |

support the ideals the party claims to back. The Democratic Party keeps abandoning its ideals and and the same time it is abandoning its real base- the people who believe in it.
