I heard a brief review of his statement on either NPR or Air America Radio (probably AAR) in the last couple of days. Now that I am back at my computer, I need to track down his complete staement (and those of any commentators, left and/or right) for an op/ed piece that I have in mind.
It started with Norquist's statements of shutting off dues check-off for certain unions (theory being, that unions will perish without the checkoff). That would be the nail in the Democrat's coffin, it went. Norquist (American's for Tax Reform) crowed (suggested the commentator) that the Repubes now so totally control the castle, with the Dems locked out, that the GOP has only now to deepen the moat, or something like that, to insure GOP hegemony for generations in the future.
It revealed such a profoundly arrogant mind-set and myopic world-view, bent on total single-party domination, that I have been in shell-shock since I heard it. And maybe I didn't hear it right. I was quite feverish and somewhat medicated for the last few days, until last night.
I'd like to find a link to the words from the horse's mouth. Or from the horse's ass, as is usually the case with Norquist.
