Wouldn't it be interesting to go back in the archives and see when... |

...different DU'ers first picked candidates for prez or senate and compare where they were in the polls on that day and compare it to where they ended up either in the primary or the general election?
You'd get points for the swing.
If we did that, how many points do you think you'd have?

1. I don't know how many points I would have |

But I do remember in the primary's I was for Dean and I remember saying that Bush wanted Kerry to run against because if he stole the election Kerry would be a graceful loser, probably because of the Skull and Bones thing. The horrible fact is that i may have been right.

but I don't think he would have done any better. Karl Rove would have had a field day with him--not that he didn't with Kerry:eyes:
Hindsight always talks a different talk. Bottom line, we won't win any election until voter fraud is stomped out.

3. After moving to Minneapolis at the end of July 2003 |

I decided that I would go see whichever Dem candidates came to town and held public meetings.
Dennis Kucinich came to St. Paul in the middle of August 2003. I knew almost nothing about him except that he was in the Progressive Caucus, so I had no preconceptions.
I was literally in tears at the end of his speech. I never thought I would live long enough to hear a Democratic candidate with vision and ideals and an analysis of the country's problems that matched my own. Two weeks later, I went to a meeting of supporters, and I worked on the campaign whenever my highly variable workload was low.
I didn't hear any other candidates till Kerry came to the University of Minnesota in June 2004. The reason is that they all seemed to hold nothing but closed meetings for contributors.
Judging from their media presences, I never warmed to Howard Dean, I thought Lieberman was to the right of Richard Nixon, Gephardt was deadly dull, Kerry was probably the most qualified, and Edwards was the most personable.
