It's too early for these devisive posts
I make no bones about being a huge Howard Dean fan and wanting him for DNC Chair and if not that then possibly supporting him for president in 2008. But some of the pro-Dean and anti-Dean stuff is getting out of hand. It's like were back in the primary period again with all the different camps. If you don't care for Dean, do you have to go out of your way to insult him and his supporters? And if you support Dean--we don't have to run down other contenders for the job. Vilsack certainly isn't my top choice, but he seems like a decent enough guy, my main gripe is that he has a full time job already as Governor of Iowa.

Sam Rayburn used to say, "Let's disagree without being disagreeable." That is pretty good advice.

Ok, sermon over.

1. I think it's a symptom of Internet use.
It's just too easy to complain here.

2. Reminds me of this quote
"But in an American election, there are no losers, because whether or not our candidates are successful, the next morning we all wake up as Americans. And that -- that is the greatest privilege and the most remarkable good fortune that can come to us on earth."

4. I'm all for the "good advice"
but have you ever noticed that Dean supporters rarely go into positive other threads about other candidates and do any bashing, but those Dean bashers go into every Dean thread that is positive just looking for a fight.

I'll say this once - Howard Dean has my vote for whatever he wants to do.

5. I read threads
and respond. I think people are classifying me as a Dean hater when I'm not. I've liked him for a very long time. I lived in Vermont for a little bit and he was a great governor. I just don't think he's the only good person in our party.

8. Hugs - it's not JUST you
Look, Dean supporters know that Howard Dean is not the only good Democrat on Earth. However we like him more than we like most of the others. Why is that so hard to hear?

13. Only a few do that.
I don't have a very high opinion of the Democrats who pacify, though. If he does not pacify, I will not attack him.

7. I so agree with you.. We can't fight the right 'til we stop fighting
ourselves. As a more moderate dem, I hate the way hard lefters curse and totally refute anything moderates say. There are some topics I just won't touch on here with a ten foot pole. By the way , on a completely unrelated topic-cause I am headed for bed soon, I saw Hilary on Greta tonight and she was just great!! No matter what people say about her, she is my hero. In fact had my second son been a girl I was going to name her (him) after her. Well have a good night everyone!

9. I mostly agree with this
But I think what is happening on DU is symptomatic of a larger Democratic Party issue. No matter who won the election...Kerry or...him....the party was going to have to undergo a realignment. The leadership has been out of touch with the rank and file forever, not winning and not leading, so it was going to happen anyway. If there must be civil Democratic war then let's get it over with.

10. I posted what he said at Yale, Dartmouth, and Harvard. Is that ok?
Should I not post anything at all? Is that really the way it should be?

Wait a month or two? Is that what you mean? I don't think so. There is organization going on, there will be things I want to post about.

I post positive things about Dean, but I will defend myself.

If we can't post about DFA, which requires mentioning Dean, then we would have to limit all posts about others as well.

A lot of this crap is new people pushing buttons. They said at a similiarly named site they would do so around election time.

When Kerry is already getting the house minority leader to change her vote....well, why should we be silent?

12. One thing...none of the others is trying for chair of DNC.
That makes it quite different. How do you not post about what is going on?
