If Hillary pulls it off in 2008 |
|
If she wins the Dem primaries and the US presidential election, will that make you more likely to believe that there are powerful strings being pulled behind the scenes beyond the control of the population?
I don't necessarily mean BBV issues, but I mean manipulation by the media and other powerful figures (esp with fundraising and influence) and so on.

1. you mean in FAVOR of Hillary ? |
|
no way, maybe for the primary, but they would turn on her as soon as she would become the democratic nominee.

2. Yes, I mean in favour of her |

You may have a point, but stranger things have happened. So if Hillary actually won the whole thing, what would you predict to be the contributing factors?

5. I Think She Could Possibly Beat Rudy.... |
|
by running to the right of him in fundyland on social issues but if the Pugs nominate a George Allen-Bill Frist type HRC can't win...
There's a lot to work with with Rudy... He's been married three times.... The first time to his first cousin... He cross dresses..... He was kicked out of his house by his second wife for sleeping with his communications director and moved in with his two gay friends...
I do not fear a Rudy candidacy...

6. actually, she could win in the south and other places |
|
by forming a strong coalition of african americans, women, and white liberals and getting them to turnout in large numbers.
this assumes that the right wing fundies stay home or vote for some third party.

7. Hmmm, so if GOP fields a Guillani-type candidate |
|
someone very deep in the GOP/Bush world but "tainted" with scandalous shit that turns off the religious right...not that implausible for a Hillary victory, hmm.

It was funny when the mythical Bill Clinton was accused of impregnating the teen age African American girl and took a blood test to prove his innocence...

17. If the GOP put up Alan Keyes to run against Hilliary, I will believe in |
|
unseen folks working their power in her favor.
Otherwise no.
I worked with a few of the "unseen powerful" in the 90's, and the EU types were quiet on politics, and the US ones were open about being far right.
I never meet a left leaning fellow who wanted to drop $5 billion or more into a tax dodge deal to help US rich and corporate.

long before 2008 democracy as we know it will be dead. You really think BushCo is going to suddenly follow the rules and actually allow a fair election to proceed? People don't seem to comprehend there has been a coup, and these people have basically just gotten started. I predict a 9/11-type attack just as evidence of fraud in the 2004 election is to be released (ie, like within the next couple of months), with the dictatorship becoming overt shortly thereafter, dropping any pretense of "democracy," with martial law, closing of borders, rounding up of dissenters, spiking of the internet with viruses that shut it down, etc. I'm a cynic and I say the only thing that is going to save us now is being liberated, finally, by an invading army. That or revolution. I am buying a gun now, under the table, before they also are rounded up.

That particular tin-foil hat conspiracy is probably the most ridiculous theory currently in circulation. It's a theory fostered and encouraged by right wing nut jobs, especially those at the freak republic site.
Hillary will not get the nomination.

12. Those strings are so huge and so obvious |
|
I don't need Hillary to show me that. Electing Hillary would be quite a feat considering how much the wrong wing hates her. She must have been the most hated First Lady in US history.
