By God, it's time for another taxcut ! |
|
The Democrats should propose this on the floor of the House. After all, we don't have enough debt to bankrupt this nation. "It's the people's money", they could say. The more money the government has, the more it will waste. But there is nothing more detrimental or ill-advised they could do at this time, so I say all this facetiously.
However, it would be a real study in locked bowels to watch the Repubs reaction to such a proposal. Would they agree that their mantra for every election would be a bad idea if proposed by a Democrat? What would they say about a tax cut proposal by the Democrats?

Also, the House Democrats should propose a law prohibiting any state from receiving federal funds for education unless that state displays the Ten Commandments prominently in all public schools.

3. Relief for Middle America! |
|
Yesterday I wrote a Democratic Congressman from my state (I live in a radical Republican disctrict) and suggested he draft legislation to provide tax relief by cutting the federal income tax to 5 percent for everyone making under $50,000 a year.
If there is so much faith in a growing economy that we can make the Bush tax cuts for the elite permanent, why can't we have enough faith to provide relief for the vast majority of overburdened average Americans?
After all, it's our money, isn't it?

4. Well, it might steal the "tax issue" from the Repubs.... |
|
But it would be the final straw in the rapid decline of our nation.

Guns, butter, tax cuts, more guns, more tax cuts, yet more guns and tax cuts...
It took us over a decade to climb out of the Vietnam/Great Society/OPEC fiscal trainwreck. And this current insanity looks much worse to me.
*shudder*

Let's let po' folks foot the bill for maintaining the FDIC, FSLIC, OPIC, the SEC and the rest of the government that doesn't help them one whit.
It's not right to punish the successful; they're the heroes of society.

propose three of them in a row, and FAT ones. And propose that they go only to people making $100K or LESS.
Then brag about how the Dems were the ones that proposed it and the reps were the ones who killed it, so who cares about the middle class and lower class more? Democrats.
Then use that in 2006 AND 2008.
Do it NOW, Dems in Congress.
