Clinton's Background v. Shrub's Background
I know this has been discussed before, but in light of today's events I wanted to bring it up again.

One of the most frustrating things about today's political scene is the way that so many middle and working class Bush voters treat him like he's the regular guy with humble origins who worked his way to the top. And at the same time, they look at Clinton like this privileged elitist with a fake Southern accent who was educated at the best NE prep schools.

It's really pretty twisted.

1. Right, and how come lil bro Jeb doesn't have the same accent?
Because it's a total put-on.

2. Nor anybody else in the clan.
Well, Laura, but that's because she was born & raised there. But Poppy, Babs, Jeb, or the other hidden siblings, NONE have that fake accent.

3. You gotta be born a George Bush. Anybody can be a Bill Clinton.

End of story, Cinderella.

4. Most middle class swing voters find Clinton repugnant
the far left in our party loves him, but most of America finds him a silly little boy who did little other than use his position to screw an intern.

Clinton never went out did the "cut firewood be a cowboy" thing, and he could never be a strong "family values" guy, so he was not approachable by many. He never really passed anything major, never did anything grand....

In the end I think Clinton was the wrong messenger for our message, I think he butchered it for his own benefit, and we have been losing every since we went down that path.

5. Blue Dog Dem - good grief - are you living under a rock?
Or just visiting from freeperland? Most American finds Clinton to be smart, ethical, committed, hard-working, effective, and ten times the man BusyBoy could ever hope be.

The Big Dog didn't have to waste his time doing the "cut firewood to be a cowboy" thingy because while Bush seeks and needs photo ops to prop up his meager persona, Clinton was actually working "hard" and accomplishing things that Bushy couldn't even begin to conceive in his feeble little mind. Clinton could get re-elected in a skinny minute if the Constitution would allow it. Looking at your post count leads me to think we have a freeper among us - your stupidity is showing.

7. Clinton did a lot
Don't be mislead by the sex scandal. He was an active president. He did a lot for international relations and he was a lot more informed about terrorism.

Oh, and there's that whole budget balancing and surplus thing...

I never realized how much I liked Clinton until we got Bush.

6. It is twisted
Furthermore, they have no reality based opinions. They either really don't know anything about what Bush has actually done OR they condone via religion or patriotism. They will believe anything about the other guy but put Bush on some kind of pedestal. I don't get it at all.
