I sent this message to the DNC.
Rumor has it that Vilsack of Iowa and Dean of Vermont are the two primary candidates for Chairman of the Democratic National Committee. I would like to express my preference for Dean.

Dean has a PROVEN LEADERSHIP AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL. He did more to organize, energize and activate Democrats all over the nation than any person other than Kerry himself, not just during the primaries, but also during the presidential campaign. At least from the viewpoint of California, Vilsack didn't organize, energize or activate much of anyone. He seems to have just kind of traipsed along in the campaign never doing anything outside the box.

Dean is a TRUE DEMOCRAT. He speaks out fearlessly for what he believes is right. His name is a household word. People will notice what he says. Vilsack is known only to people in his own state, Iowa, a few close friends in the party and party hacks. Vilsack is lackluster and will be ignored by Americans.

The hundreds of thousands of us party flunkies who got blisters on our feet walking precincts want a real fighter to lead the Party. DEAN FIGHTS. Vilsack doesn't seem to be much of a fighter.

Finally, and most important, Dean comes from A STATE THAT BACKED KERRY IN THE MOST RECENT ELECTION. In a close race that could have gone either way, Vilsack could not deliver Iowa. How in the world is he ever going to deliver the whole country in 2006 and 2008? It’s time that we reward Democrats who deliver. Please name Dean as National Democratic Party Chairman.

By the way, I was not a Dean supporter in the primaries, and I’m not suggesting he should run for the presidency again. I just think he is the only person with the personality, optimism and faith to rebuild the Democratic organization at this time.
