I am still boycotting cable news
as well as newspapers.

From scanning the threads here and in GD and LBN, I made one damn fine decision.

3. Same here
15 days and counting

I do still read the NY Times though 2-3 times a week.

After 2 weeks of not being a "news" junkie I feel great!! I dont think I am going to watch the news at all anymore lol

14. In the not-too-distant future-
Next Sunday A.D.-
There was a guy named Joel,
Not too different from you or me.
He worked at Gizmonic Institute,
Just another face in a red jumpsuit.
He did a good job cleaning up the place,
But his bosses didn't like him
So they shot him into space.

We'll send him cheesy movies,
The worst we can find (la-la-la).
He'll have to sit and watch them all,
And we'll monitor his mind (la-la-la).
Now keep in mind Joel can't control
Where the movies begin or end (la-la-la)
Because he used those special parts
To make his robot friends.

Robot Roll Call: (All right, let's go!)
Cambot! (Pan left!)
Gypsy! (Hi, girl!)
Tom Servo! (What a cool guy!)
Croooow! (He's a wisecracker.)

If you're wondering how he eats and breathes
and other science facts (la la la),
Then repeat to yourself, "It's just a show,
I should really just relax
For Mystery Science Theater 3000!"

:hi:

4. I'm not sure mine is actually boycotting as much as it is that I still
can't stomach watching ANY of them - and thatincludes C-span. At the rate I'm going, I seriously wonder ifI'll ever be able to watch the news again.

5. Me too, already I relapsed last night by watching
Aaron Brown for about 15 minutes. Other than that it's been about 15 days for me. Since Nov. 3. At that point my channel of choice was CNN.

Hell, if we're not heading toward a one network state media then I'm not depressed.

7. Me, too.
I feel so much better not watching. I think we'll all lapse now and again for a couple of minutes, but, for the most part, listen to our favorite radio hosts instead, read DU, and patronize our favorite internet sites.

10. I started before the election
DO NOT watch any of that crap any longer...

If enough of us do it and AAR continues to get more and more people, guess what even the MSM will get the clue or die... and yes die is the apropriate word

They rely on advertisemet dollars, they cannot get us to them, well the advertisers will NOT run their adds

They may not count the votes but they will count the dollars

meet one, teach one. spread the word about american media being dead, american media being the enemy.

not been watching it and still more informed, with lower blood pressure! there's no justifiable reason to patronize them anymore in my eyes. just let them wallow in their crapulence and ignore them.

:D

I can't stand or trust cable or local news. There is a media blackout in this country and Americans are too damn stupid to realize it and too damn apathetic to care.

I haven't watched cable news since election night. And I don't miss it either!! It's so nice not to have to listen to all those assholes. I knew if I tuned into Hardball after the election, I'd hurt myself or someone else. (lol)

26. HELL YEAH
I started boycotting them over two weeks ago and DAMN it feels good.

No news at ALL, except what I get out of LBN, babee!

My head is clear, I can hear myself think again! Liberation! Freedom! The clouds have parted!

I've become suddenly melodramatic!

Cable news (and network news) is dead to me. I don't give it a moments thought or miss it at all. In fact, since I've stopped watching I've felt less frustrated. My TV is used for the following shows only:

1) The Daily Show
2) Southpark
3) Football
4) Keith Olbermann

And that's it.
