13. I love him too.....but I voted for Gore
Just because!

I remember seeing President and Mrs Carter at some event where they were sitting on the stage and discussing his noble peace prize. I couldn't see the whole thing because I had to leave the house. But he was talking about foreign policy etc... then I get in the car and some local pundit was talking about the blue laws and how he couldn't buy beer on sunday morning. And this was a big political issue to him. I burst into tears at the contrast and mourned at how banal our media has become.

Jimmy Carter is a great man.

3. I've gotta go with Bill Clinton. He was best because he
beat the GOP incumbant and framed our issues so they were popular. He paid a high price with $100 million spent investigating him....the repugs came up empty handed.

And best of all? HE'S NOT DONE YET!!!!!!!!! :dem:

7. Best for what?
Elect-ability? (Clinton)

Decent Human Being (Carter)

Most Liberal (McGovern), this choice subject to memory jogs, purple haze days.

8. Kerry
He came closest to winning in a head to head race. No Perot splitting the Republican vote. Although, maybe Gore because he won even though he was fighting the Nader vote split at the same time. As an overall candidate though, Kerry had more of that vision thing and would have been a better President.

11. I guess it depends on how you define best
I would assume it meant who could actually win. Therefore it's no debate. Clinton is the only one to win two terms, and only two of those candidates won the election.
Others must be using different criteria to judge who is best--whom you agree with the most, etc...
