VERY suspect/secret voting process keeps DeLay in power
We all know the Republican controlled Congress voted to change the rules to allow to Delay keep his seat if he gets indicted. But Joshua Marchall (Talking Points Memo) and the fine folk at Daily Kos have pointed out that there is no record of the vote. In fact, some Repubs claim there was no vote at all.

Of course, there WAS a vote, but it was a voice-vote and therefore no records. So Marshall started calling members of the GOP caucus to see how they voted...and people at Daily Kos joined in. It seems many more people were trying convince us that they voted against it then there were nay votes,

To make a long story short, many of the Repubs. WON'T tell anyone how they voted. They claim that rules forbid them to, or that it's private....and some won't even tell their own constituents. All complete bullsh*t... One staffer even told three different people three different stories.

So they have a running list of who tells them what....CALL YOUR REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN AND DEMAND (politely) TO KNOW HOW THEY VOTED. We need to hold them accountable...

1. Saw the repukes all file out after the vote on C-Span
....f-ing slimeballs , all of them.

They said they didnt need a roll-call as the voice-vote was so overwhelming.

The only repuke to say he voted against was Chris Sheys of CT.

That fucker Delay even admited he stood at the back of the room while they voted and "recused himself"...then tried to argue that the rule change wasnt ot protect him!...asshole.

2. I love what Rep. Dingell said about DeLay
This amounts to a work release program for the ethically challenged.

We should all remember that a decade ago, Mr. DeLay helped to create this rule. Republicans said at the time they were the party of reform and good government. Now they’ve become the party of moribund hubris."

3. Dingell told me personally about a month ago
that the current group of Republican leaders is the most corrupt in American history.

5. Yup. Met him at a rally in Ann Arbor in September or October
He actually stood and chatted with me for awhile. It was pretty neat considering how powerful he is.
