Poll question: Why Did Bush Run For President? |
|
I don't believe that he did so of his own accord. He doesn't seem that interested in the job.

if my dad can be, I can be toooooooooo. God Rock Against Bush came with cool shit. I am gonna let you in on something interesting, Dan Quayle actually considered running that year too in the GOP primaries, I live near DC and my dad worked as a waiter at a hotel, and he remembers his manager being very excited about Qualye coming, I forget what it was that made all those republicans there ut Qualye did consider.

4. PNAC had their agenda good to go in 1998. They just needed a frontman. |
|
They tried to sell their agenda to Bill Clinton, and failed. Though apparently he bought enough of it to allow "regime change" to be considered as an official policy in Iraq.
They probably figured Gore would be no more likely to accept their plan without question. They needed a weak President. Another Ronald Reagan who would be little more than an empty suit putting a "likeable" face on a truly hateable agenda.
It might have been Jeb Bush himself who suggested his dumbass brother. Jebbie himself signed the early PNAC documents, so he no doubt influenced the decision.
And with a mass media completely controlled by corporate America - including defense contractors and Clear Channel, a company literally founded with money from Bush business dealings- their empty headed empty suit got the kind of coverage Ronald Reagan would have killed for. Unlike Ronnie, Junior didn't even have to act like he knew what he was talking about. Despite the emergence of a far better qualified candidate in John McCain, the GOP bought the clown wholesale, probably based on his daddy's name alone.
Did Junior want the job then, or now?
Does he actually even DO the job?
Who knows? But the number of vacations that idiot takes (and the timing of some of them) certainly don't speak "dedication" to me.
