I'm finally in the "Freepers Tore Down My Kerry Poster" Club!! |
|
Sometime this afternoon, one of the local "Patrio-nazis" ripped down the Kerry Edwards poster I had at the bottom of our driveway (private property).
Fucking fascists.
We have a few neighborhood vigilantes around here -- one has an enormous sign that says "Bush is Freedom", and just down the road lives the GOP poll watcher who tore down Kerry posters outside the polls I was working at, and who assaulted me and tried to steal my camera when I took a picture of her doing so. But there is no shortage of wackos here in Blue State PA.
I guess they're trying to tell me that anything less than Bush Worship is not going to be tolerated around here anymore.

I had my signs stolen once and town down three times.
I rebuilt it each time. The one I built myself was 5 feet tall and stood proudly in the front yard. Three times, they destroyed it. Finally I built it much stronger and tied the sign and all parts of it to stakes driven deep into the ground. The sign became a fortress. And it withstood everything. I finally took the sign down myself yesterday. It wasn't even easy for ME to take it down.
The other one was a small yard sign that the campaign sold, and it was stolen along with all the others in the neighborhood just about a week before the election. I went down to the dem headquarters and got new signs for everybody on my block.

15. How Iron-f***ing-nic! |
|
"Bush is Freedom" means there's no freedom to support anyone other than Bush. Are Creepers just too dense to understand their own ironies?

Our local tv media has had a number of "concerned Americans" reporting that their Bush-Cheney signs had been stolen. Gotta keep up the impression that Democrats stand for lawlessness, right? Yeah, all those evolution-crazed sodomites giving aid and comfort to terrorists by tearing down Bush signs. Thank GOD we were saved by Jesus personally intervening in the election by miraculously multiplying all those Bush votes on those Diebold machines like the loaves and fishes, so the Democratic agenda for mandatory abortions carried out by terrorist homosexual paleontology professors!
There were all varieties of "Bush is God" signs around here, that I just tolerated. But some "freedom protector" can't stand the idea that there is one soul out of lockstep in this little village.
To paraphrase what Jon Stewart said last night -- what's next? Having "Bush is God" painted on my front door in my dog's blood?

5. But have they trashed your car? |
|
I have come back to my car to find it keyed many times, and once even came back to find the grille broken and a huge dent in the hood.
So, needless to say, I took my Kerry sticker off quite some time ago.
It might not be sticker related, its hard to say. But I hadn't taken nearly that much abuse before putting it on this summer, and haven't had nearly as much since taking it off...

17. That happened in 2000 |

I was living in FL and my car was vandalized -- presumably kicked by someone passing by one the sidewalk.
I had anti-Bush stickers on my car.

20. They're probably too stupid to understand |
|
But maybe not.
I knew a man who was threatened with arrest for attempting to carry a sign that said "Citizens for Legitimate Government" onto a sidewalk where His Chimperial Majesty was due to pass by in his heavily armed motorcade. He asked the GOP operative posing as Secret Service: "The sign just says "Citizens for Legitimate Government"! So you KNOW that means I am against Bush?" (It was lawful to hold up "Bush is God" signs though. Secret Service, my ass....)

If that's true, then I guess we now eat Bush Fries, Bush toast, and Bush bread?
I guess it makes Bush Kissing an acceptable expression. ;)

10. Man, I 'm glad I don't live in your neighborhood |
|
but we have had the same problems with people taking down signs. I actually took the Kerry sticker off of my car right after the election because I was afraid it would invite conversations I was not interested in having - i.e., so far I have refused to acknowledge Bush's (fraudulent) victory by just saying nothing and I thought the sticker may bring up the subject.
I will never understand how anyone can like this man or think he is good, or Godly, or anything other than the lying, thieving jerk that he is.

18. I see Kerry bumperstickers all the time |
|
If I see a person associated with it, I give them a big hello. They give me an emotional lift, knowing that there are sane people out there.
I find the idea that Bush is for freedom, or "Christly" absurd. I find his popularity incomprehensible, except from what I know about the authoritarian mindset and incipient totalitarian cultures.

11. Mine was stolen as well |
|
In response to your neighbor's "Bush is Freedom" sign... The day after the election, these young, brainwashed freepers in my school made t-shirts which read (on the front): "Mission Accomplished"; and (on the rear): "Four more years of freedom". I try and show them good citizenship on a daily basis, but their young minds have been warped by their parents and the "group mentality" of those around them.
As a teacher I could not say a word to these little Bush-Jugend.
So, all I can say is that I sympathize with you and feel your rage. I live in SC and it was not all that red on November 3; my home county was blue, but the county where I currently reside was redder than hell.
Keep up the fight!

22. It may have been Code enforcement... |
|
We have 7 days after the election to remove political signs in Florida. Code enforcement goes around on Saturdays and pulls down every sign (yard sales or political)
