Alternet: "Matsui's braindead on the Democratic Party" Says no debate.

SNIP..."There is a growing surge of articles in insider-type outlets like The Hill and ABC's The Note speculating on who's going to take over the DNC.

This week's hands down winner has got to be Rep. Robert Matsui from Hawaii. He's one of the Party's powerful -- he is the chair of Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which recently oversaw the loss of an additional five Democratic seats in the House this November 2. Matsui delivered a jawdropper in his statements against the former DLC poster child Howard Dean's prospects as DNC chairman: “We need someone who is part of the Democratic establishment. Someone who is more of a known quantity. It’s extremely important that we don’t go through a debate about ideology.”

SNIP.."Yes. Ideology, vision, call it what you will, is an extremely important issue -- so important that Democrats don't talk about it... it's especially important that the new chairman doesn't talk about the festering problem at the core of why the Democratic party keeps losing...."

And this has little to do with whether Kerry won or lost. We lost congressional seats again.

Hey, I don't care who the chair is....but let us be fair....we MUST go through debates.

1. Sure That Wasn't Hideki Matsui Talking?
Otherwise, that's one out-of-touch Democrat.

P.S.: He's an idiot, whichever Matsui was talking. There's NEVER anything wrong with debate.

P.P.S.: I also still think Dean's better off not running the DN/LC. Let him run DFA, raise money and WIN. He'll have the DN/LC knocking on his door.

2. How about Howard Stern. Don't know if he's a Democrat or not.
But he has a hit radio show and TV show. A big mouth. Lots of guts. Knows more about the Right of Free Speech than all the repubs together. Probably more than a lot of Democrats. Just think of how livid the religious right would be!

3. CORRECTION...
Matsui is from California, not Hawaii.

He has an office in downtwon Sacramento.

4. That jackass is supossed to represent me
He's was my one exception to voting straight ticket dem this election, I voted for the Green canidate in his race instead. I wasn't aware that I live in Hawaii, I assume the fog is obscuring the scenery or something. ;)

5. This guy is staunchly Pro NAFTA , MFN, NTR , PNTR ,China, Fasttrack, etc.,
No more staunch supporter of MFN for China than he.

He did start voting against fasttrack in LATE 2000 when he knew it wasnt going to pass (dont let that fool you)and opposed it while Bush was in office. But he already gave the corperations all that the wet-dreams-come true that their fat asses could desire.

6. The Hill doesn't know that Bob Matsui is a California Rep?
So much for "insider" Capitol Hill news. Or do they think because he has a Japanese surname he must be from Hawaii? Strange.

Alternet could do with a bit of fact checking too.
