1. Support Chinese Industry!
Since a good number of those magnetic car ribbon are probably made in China.

14. Don't buy Chinese stuff -- buy American or make your own!
This has nothing to do with the car ribbons (which I have not seen but will now look for), but we can get our message out without copying repukes or supporting the Chinese economy. This is what I do and it is GOOD THERAPY.

I have been creating fliers on the computer, with angry messages about the stolen election, comments about the silent media, website addresses like BBV.org and DU.com, eye-catching graphics, unflattering photos of Bush ...etc. I printed out 100 the other day on bright gold and red paper for a total of about $8. I keep a stack of these in my car, and whenever I go into any store, gas station, office building, etc., I bring a few in and scatter them around, like next to newspaper displays & magazine stands (cover up mags you don't like!), or even put them among merchandise--like in the deodorant aisle at Walgreens:D

I was feeling somewhat discouraged, because I wondered if I was really inspiring anybody to join our fight, but my husband told me to keep it up, because the posters would energize others who feel the way we do! Made me feel 100% better, because it is true.

18. I completely agree!
The Chinese are getting enough of our jobs, especially the well-paying ones! Homegrown is the best!

2. I hate those damn things
Every car I see now has one of them. Bandwagon patriotism is still running rampant in this country.

Of course it's too long and it will probably cause you to be rear ended on the road, but hey, all's fair in love and invasion.

15. My choice: "Another Empty Gesture" -- if you really Have to have a ribbon
Edited on Sat Nov-20-04 09:29 AM by mcscajun
I hate those damned ribbons, though. What they say can mean anything you want it to...they signify nothing, they accomplish nothing, but displaying one shows you're on board with the majority, whoever They Are.

Put anything you like on your car...just make it anything but a ribbon, please.

17. Irony...
I can't count how many bumper stickers, that when seen from a distance, appear to be pro-Bush/war, but when you get up close, are really a sarcastic, ironic visual twist -and are REALLY ANTI-Bush/war.

While clever, they do at times seem TOO concerned with cleverness, and less with a solid message.

I prefer the more straight forward stickers:

"Stop the War!"

"Kerry/Edwards 2004"

etc.

Sarcasm and bitterness are not effective advertising tools.
Bumper stickers ARE advertising.
