I Wasn't Aware That George W. Bush Was A Moderate Republican
Edited on Sat Nov-20-04 10:50 AM by Magic Rat
All this time I thought he was the most extreme, radical right-wing conservative president in the history of this nation.

Golly, I sure do have egg on my face now.

Apparently we - WE - need to move to the center, because the center wins.

Thus, Bush must sit squarely in the center, because he won. So we must go there to meet him.

Right?

Am I missing something?

Have my eyes been lying to me these past four years? Bush is a moderate. Wow, I wonder what I was getting all worked up about?

Silly rabbit, logic is for kids.

2. I don't know how you could possibly forget that he's
a uniter, not a divider! Doesn't that in and of itself make him a moderate? :eyes:

:P

(uniting the world against is qualifies, doesn't it?)

3. Facts of life

Even the most dyed-in-the-wool rabid politician thinks h/her position represents moderation and compromise...some sort of human nature thingie I suppose.

One never hears the current (and grossly ineffective) leadership of the democratic party state a preference for dragging the party to the extreme right, only that they wish to woo the centrist voter. In order to seek this (mythic) voter they parrot the aims of their opposition , attempting to please folks who have already decided to support this opposition. Well ,imo, they are seeking someone who doesn't exist. What they are really doing with this incompetent strategy is losing the minority vote, losing the union vote, losing the kids and losing the left. Great strategy there folks......
