I intend to write a comparison to show how Dubya's persona is deliberately crafted to fool his target audience, the American public, with the use of this US Army Propaganda Manual 33-1 and Biderman's Chart of Coercion detailing the eight standard techniques used to break the minds and wills of prisoners. Biderman's chart was compiled by Amnesty International and codifies methods used for years by militaries and law enforcement around the world against prisoners.

The same tactics are used to design the lifestyle of the working American masses to effectively influence their obedience, work ethic, willingness to suffer and kill, and ability or willingness to resist.

Abusive domestic partners and parents use these methods, especially on physically smaller females and children.

Fascism won't be stopped unless to forces behind it are eliminated, or at least controlled. Its still possible to keep the Fascism from further spreading to even more of the population. It will be difficult though. I hope you'll post any ideas you get. Knowing, and being able to explain how propaganda works sounds like a great idea.

I've been looking for years for a way to get ditto heads to consider facts, evidence, logic, or moral arguments. From what I've been reading, the victims of propaganda develop the part of their personalities that make them vulnerable before they are two years old. Its very difficult to change the basic world views that make wingers hateful.

The current RW propaganda is driven by an us versus them approach. Listeners are told that if they believe all the lies they are told they'll be part of a holy army. The army will triumph over evil. The listeners are told they'll be smarter if they believe the lies too.

Mostly the propagandists demonize the left. The worse the left is, the more important the wingers think they are. So, the more the listeners hate, the better they feel. The propagandists have exchanged the listeners moral awareness for a simple proposition. "Be on our side, and you'll be good." That frees up the listeners to lie or kill or just about anything. The more they lie and take part in the propagandist's forces, the more emotionally they become invested in the whole thing. Seeing reality would be incredibly painful for these folks.

I haven't been able to fix a RW yet, but I've noticed they are more receptive if they are approached in a friendly manner. That limits the us versus them problem.

I don't think posting pictures of dead people would help. They'd see that as an attack. They'd be told that liberals love to see these people killed so they can post the pictures and gain power.

The very facts that these photos are not presented in mainstream news, and that robert-fisk.com is down, would tend to support that.

The RW does not want pictures of injured Iraqis in the media, period--especially children. If someone is not moved by the sight of a suffering child he/she is truly beyond hope.
