McCain Calling for 40,000 More Troops
Edited on Sun Nov-21-04 10:37 AM by Stephanie

Quoting generals who say we need 80,000 more. McCain "Every war there are terrible mistakes made. But we can fix them."

How can he live with himself after what he's done?

McCain's on MTP.

9. If that's what he's doing then it's weird
Even so I'll wait and see what he does. His Bush campaigning was bizaare. But he might be helping to push is friend's agenda, because he know Kerry was right and can now say so.

I can't completely flush McCain as long as I know that a guy I admire has him for a friend.

16. i can
anyone who supports *, when in 2000 * trashes his wife and kid, is not a stable person

After the inane budget vote by MOST of the democrats yesterday, which included anti-abortion language, screw most of the democrats

I am glad that kerry and edwards voted against it, but when dashille, feinstein, shummer, and quite a few others vote for it, the democratic party is no longer viable

we either need to start a new party, or throw the BUMS OUT!!!

they don't represent me

is there has been something of a falling out between their friendship over the last few months.

Apparently McCain tried calling Kerry after the election but Kerry never returned his calls. I don't Kerry really likes him much very more. The active campaigning for Bush must have really disgusted him.

McCain is a sad, pathetic figure.

& gave an interview...

said he & Kerry have talked a couple of times since the election..

& he gave Kerry advice on how to use his loss to achieve goals...

said they're still good friends...

18. Beautiful Support McCain
Divide the GOP electorate. Hardcore pubbies dislike him...I always tell my hardcore GOP friends that I voted for McCain in the 2000 primary just to watch them squirm. I voted for Gore after finding out he wouldn't win. This is the philosphical point that I changed parties.

Edited on Sun Nov-21-04 11:07 AM by JI7
i didn't feel strongly about gore or bradley to support one or the other. i would have been equally happy with whoever had won the nomination and had planned to support and vote for whoever won in november. so i voted in the republican primary against bush. i even registered republican just to do that.

35. That's so funny because I did the same thing! I didn't realize at the time
though that in Ohio by doing that I was changing to Repub. Then I started getting all of these phone calls and literature. I was horrified to hear then that I was registered as a Repub. Could not wait til the next primary so that I could get that horrible title away from my name. But I hated * so much at the first sight that I did this so I could vote against him. Still despise him.

30. Kerry called for 40,000 more troops for the military
because it was so stretched & overworked.

But not to send the 40,000 to Iraq.

McCain on the other hand, has been calling for more troops since the beginning, along with Joe Biden & some others.

We never had enough troops in Iraq.

The entire war is a disgrace. For political reasons they didn't send enough troops.

Bush & Rumsfeld KNOW there aren't enough troops there.

I think we should just pull out...it will never be stable over there.

Remember that picture on the plane where Bush has him pinned under his left arm in the doorway? He absolutely humiliated himself by kissing the hand that attacked his wife and child. You must be right - what other explanation is there?

for Kerry.

Sorry about that truth, everyone. We'll just get rid of all those "liberal democrats" in the CIA and you'll never have do deal with the truth again.

Eh, deary me. I think I'll have to start calling McCain Sybil. I think the dude's confused.

6. We can fix them. What a fucking moronic statement. Every war mistakes
are made, but you don't fix mistakes of life and death. After some one is dead there is no fixing it. You avoid war if at all possible you don't fight at all. Every war has it's challenges, but fighting a inferior weaker enemy posses even greater challenges then fighting someone your equal or stronger. Fighting someone weaker can mean you lose even when you win and the weaker can win even though they lose.

Edited on Sun Nov-21-04 10:56 AM by Donna Zen
Just a reality check.

McCain is a sellout! That's all...just a sellout. He learned nothing from Vietnam, and he doesn't support the troops. If he actually supported anything; stood for anything; he would have actively campaigned against this murdering thugs in the White House.

McCain supported this illegal invasion from the outset; still does. Lies? He could give a moral-shit. CIA supported Kerry? Is that McCain's idea of a bad joke. Where's the 911 report McCain?

OMG_McCain does not speak for me; and I will never vote for that piece of bush-toilet-paper.

of the same things. It's a real shame. McCain could have been decent. He's a strong environmental proponent and he's whoring himself out to a man who doesn't believe global warming exists. He leveled a lot of quiet criticism at Bush during the election, but still lent him public support. It disappoints me.

I'd like to read more about it if there is a source.

Oh my, that would be telling if Kerry is disgusted with him. In some ways I thought of them as the dog and the coyote in the WB cartoon, adversaries until the noon lunch whistle, then sitting down together for lunch, then punching back in and being adversaries again. But I could see where McCain went too far this campaign season. It was just weird, really.

It was only a one sentence comment in a longer article and I can't even remember if it was McCain who said it (I think so).

26. Whatever last drips of integrity are gone with McCain't
He is an unswerving apparachik of the Bush Regime. He tries to play it both ways, but in the end, he is nothing more than a lost soldier in the fog of Bush's war on the truth.

I hope he runs again in 2008 so that the Repuglicans can chop him down again with their lies. Run John, run.

Watch the neocon theocratic thugs come after you and destroy you once and for all. You fell on the sword many times for them and they will repay you with a sword plunged deeply and twisted into your back.

Hopefully, McCain's last words will be how he was lied to by those that said they were his friends.
