Keith Olberman "went on vacation" with "convenient timing"
OR is that just my opinion? Everynight he was on talking about Election Fraud, then he "WON" a trip, and took off. Convenient? or Planned?

5. i've been following Olbermann';s blog...
and while everybody else may have lockjaw, he sure hasn't.

the only jourrnalist with any guts in the country.

sorry if I was a little snarky. I can only get my mind around two or at most three conspiracies at a time.

10. Doesn't have to be a conspiracy
just a simple "Get that F---! loudmouth off of the air for a few days! from one of the bosses would do it.

You think that these election results happened by pure chance and stupidity? I think that it took a massive coordinated effort. So if you want to call it a conspiracy, then yes it is a conspiracy. In order or complete a massive conspiracy though you need massive support and cooperation and the media has been on board for a long time. So Keith being told to take a few days off, wouldn't be a stretch considering that the media has protected Bush all along.

Don't mean to sound so dire as to call Keith's vacation a conspiracy of it's own, but just part of the massive conspiracy being conducted by the Reicht wingers.

12. cool
i do recognize that the election was stolen, or else i wouldn't be here. and if you track back over my posts, if that is even possible, you'll find that i have been very hard on the dems and kerry for not standing up for enfranchisement.

but my comments reflected my understanding from reading olbermann's blog of a few days back debunking the idea that he was fired or told to bugger out, that this was a planned vacation all along.

so if i'm gonna believe his stuff about the stolen election, i'm gonna take him at his word that his break was planned.

have you been following his blog, or just his tv appearences.

and i may be a snarkbunny, but i'm not the enemy.

14. I don't think of you as the enemy
I don't read everything daily, unfortunately. I just realized when I saw Olbermann leave his show on his "surprise" vacation, I took it just as that..a surprise. I didn't know it was planned. So I take back what I thought and or said. Please don't take offense because none was intended. I agree with what you said about Kerry and the Dems and go on being hard on them. So far as I can see now, they deserve it. I could only hope that something will surface and we will all find out that they have some tricks up their sleeves.

3. From Keith Olbermann's current blog:
Now, I’ve been getting recognized in public since 1982, and I had a stalker for eight years who once talked her way into ESPN and wound up being escorted to my desk - so I think I can tell the difference between a fan and a threat (this was a fan; a threat doesn’t come up and announce he’s going to tail you). I relate this just because of the timing. In the last week, I have read that I’ve been fired, suspended, muzzled, threatened (that, I think, was my NBC colleague Kevin Sites, who reported the Marine prisoner shooting in Iraq - our mailbox had a couple of those), and in the middle of it, I get a ‘What’s the frequency Kenneth moment’ from a fan who was just trying to be funny.

From a previous blog:

I’m on vacation—  it’s been scheduled since August; I’ll be blogging in the interim; Countdown will continue to cover the story in my absence; I not only wasn’t fired for ‘mentioning’ the story - but we covered it five nights in a row; and, I’ll be back on television on the 22nd (earlier, if developments warrant).

7. I would imagine a lot of people connected to politics
planned vacations for after the election.

You can only go none stop for so long.

9. He planned a vacation after the election. He planned it a long time ago.
Before he knew there would be a voting fraud problem to report on. Let the man enjoy a few days off. He deserves it.

8. If I was making a bet, I'd bet it was a forced vacation.
The SF Chronicle has been consistently purging any columnist who is too vociferously liberal and it always starts with the person going on "vacation".

11. Keith is not being accused of being a Reicht winger by me
but with his being one of the only consistent voices on air talking about voting fraud....well, it wouldn't surprise me. I just hope that Keith picks up where he left off. I e-mailed him and asked him to please get back to work, that we needed his voice out there.

Keith is a beacon of light. I look forward to his return tonight. Should be interesting. I wonder if he will comment on his vacation?

15. Actually, it may be that what he's doing is some actual investigating
His blog has been updated every day he's been on vacation. Further, he's been very clear that he wasn't "forced" to take a vacation and wasn't being taken off the air. In actual fact, his blog has been on fire the past week, mostly about the various voting issues.

I have absolutely NO factual basis for this, but it seems to me that he just might be out there looking into what's been going on "under the radar". It seems to me, too, that Keith has some personal stake in all this. He's pissed at someone, to be sure. Certainly he's pissed at Fox News (witness what he was saying during the falafal thing with O'Reilly). Maybe it isn't even a matter of being pissed at someone so much as being the antiFox.

I dunno, but it sure seems like something's up with him ..........

18. Tell ya what. I'm going to make the ultimate sacrifice and
volunteer to go with Keith from now on when he has vacation time, wants to take a day off here or there, whatever. That way, all the people who keep freaking out about Keith missing in action will have an actual DU'er to vouch for his whereabouts, safety, etc.

Will that make everyone feel better? :grouphug:

Now how do I get Keith to go along with this? :loveya:

(And if any of you bought in to that part about it being a 'sacrifice' for me to do this -- wanna buy some land in Florida?)

19. Planned vacation,
but still a sure bet that Olberman will be off MSNBC within six months.
They always wait to avoid the appearance of overt right-wing corporate censorship.
Maher and Donahue know how this works.
