Grrr LTOE writer in Monroe La.
In Sunday's Monroe newpaper they spotlight one LTOE writer. This week was a Repug "manager of computer systems".

His statement was ~ "I voted for Bush because of his morals, I did not care about the economy"

Ggggrrrrrrr.... I wonder when his work is outsourced to India or China what he will be able to feed his family with. Chicken fried Morals......

1. Did the writer specify any examples?
I have found in the last couple of weeks the way to discombobulate the sound bite crapola entirely, and that's to get into specifics: What morality? What specific examples of Bush's moral values can you point to that were dispositive for you? Give 'em their head and let 'em run. After citing gay marriage and abortion, they'll run out of ideas. I have found that these people aren't real deep, analytical thinkers. Once you point out that George himself paid for a girlfriend's abortion and said that he favored some sort of civil union provision for same sex couples, you (and the bubblehead) find that the "morality" meme runs out of steam.

2. No and this was not a LTTE it was a "spotlight" on
a writer. So it just had a one liner on different questions like Who did you vote for President and Why.

4. Yup, the shorter the sound bite
The better the meme for the inattentive. "Yuh, 'morality!' That's why I voted fer Bush!"

that paper stinks. It's so biased toward the right but I guess it would have to be since that whole area is full of right wing non thinkers. I wouldn't give them a cent of my money. Disgusting!

on edit: please check the Louisiana forum. There's some interesting stuff there from time to time.

5. I am on contract in Monroe
and my home is in Tampa. What I can not get use to is the NO newspapers on Sunday other than the local one. During the week you can get USA Today but on the weekend it is the Monroe rag or nothing. I thought I could get New Orleans or Shreveport Sunday papers but NOOOOOOOOO

Funny thing the editorial cartoon is normally liberal but not the LTTE.

6. You used to be able to get the NYT sunday edition.
My neighbor got that when I was living there. You should check into that.

I feel so sorry for you being stuck there. If you're there long maybe you can help with the political landscape up there.
