Anyone else go to a MoveOn party last night?
There were about 6000 groups across the country that met in homes and teleconferenced with the groups leaders in New York.

1. No, I'm in a very rural area. What happened?

4. Defining and articulating a clear progressive agenda
was voted on as the issue with the highest priority.

I've been on their mailing list for a while but this was the first meeting I've ever been to. There were 6 groups meeting in Madison, and 21 people at our group. Everyone there had worked on the campaign and turning out the vote- what a terrific bunch of people.

Basically the local groups were online at the beginning, middle and end of the meeting to communicate with the leadership.

There were two parts, really- setting priority issues and setting strategy for the future. Defining and articulating the progressive viewpoint came out at the top of the list of issues. Media reform, election reform, electing progressive candidates and other stategies were discussed and fed back to the leadership.

I'm not describing it very well, but I will post when I get their email which will summarize results.

2. I couldn't make it
I was tempted to go b/c I wanted to touch base with all my moveon acquaintances. I'm not too sure how much work I'm going to do with Moveon since they really seemed to funnel our efforts out of state. I'd rather devote my energies to my area.

3. I did
It was a great meeting. About 16 of us. Lost the teleconference though, just couldn't get through. Top issues were voting legitimacy and the the Supreme Court. I'm in NY, upstate.
