Regarding that Big Brother Tax Investigation provision
of the omnibus spending bill. Why hasn't someone stated the obvious? That was put in there for one reason only--to dig up dirt on the prosecutor that's trying to indict Delay and anyone else who would dare go after crooked Reps.

1. There needs to be an investigation of who inserted it and why
Has it been removed?

5. It is my understanding that it passed with an agreement
with Dennis Hastert that it would be revisited afterward. Guess the holiday turkey was more important than the people's business.

4. I heard Diane Feinstein say the same thing yesterday..
The bill add-on was stuck in there on purpose so as to dig into the backgrounds of people who ...um, "speak against" this administration..

6. The bill only passed the House....the "Istook Amendment" was caught
late on Sat night live on C-Span ( yes a very sad life I lead)

The Senate then spend 2 more hours trying to figure out a way to passs the bill but "promise" no-one would use the provision until the House came back in session and deleted it from the Bill later in the year or Jan 2005.

Well , they finally passed a motion that would agree to pass the Bill but hold it on the desk in the Senate until such time as House meets to delete the provision.

Frist says it was in Rep Istook (R - surprise !) provision.
Istook first said it was the IRS who wrote it...now he says he doesnt know who wrote it......nor to follow I'm sure.
