Could we draft Bill Clinton for governor of FL. ?
Maybe it's a crazy idea but if he moved to Fl. He would be eligble. I think it would help alot to have a Dem. governor in Fl. I believe he could win handily and it would help the national party.

1. Why would he want to?
Why step down from "former President" to Governor???

I think he's still hoping to be BACK in the White House for eight more years.

4. Never going to happen!
Neither of the Clintons will be in the White House again! Hillary is going to have one hell of a fight on her hands come 06' Colin Powell is going to run against her in 06' and polling indicates that she would lose big! I dont really trust polling data, but that is what it says.

5. I don't see Powell running
and I don't think he has the support of the far right.

Either way I agree that Hillary would be a bad candidate in '08. I don't see which red state she would help flip.

11. Why Would Powell Run And Give A Gift To The Pugs
after Bush* and the PNACERS kicked him to the curb....

I would be humiliated if i told my boss I was quitting and he didn't even try to get me to change my mind...

And I think he lacks the stones to get in the political arena...

and Powell was HEAVILLY courted years ago by republicans. He may have been one of the few to have made '96 competetive had he ran.

14. I Was Going To Start A Powell Thread Bur I Have To Go Back To Work Soon..
He is a small man... He let himself be neutered by smaller men like Rumsfeld and Cheney and didn't have the honor to resign....

He's more pitiful than AWOL*....

7. OTOH, when is the last time he lost a race?
It may not be traditional for a president to step 'down' to governor or senator after his term, but there's certainly no law against it and he would be mighty effective.

Besides, it would help the Dems get past the image of being the party of Clinton if the country saw him acknowledging someone else as the head of the Dem party. Even now, everybody runs against Clinton. In that instance, the only persons running against Clinton would be the actual persons running against Clinton, and they would lose.

9. Yeah, it's crazy.
Why would you wish that on that family? They finally have a home in NY and Hillary has a full-time job there.
