Yeah, I know the cards are stacked against us. Let's do some out of the box thinking here. I would like some posts here about how impeachment might be accomplished. I don't really care to hear about the things Bush/Cheney et al, have done to deserve impeachment - those are legion. It is pretty much an unnecessary discussion - they are imminently impeachable. I also well know just how stacked the cards are in their favor. Those aside, how do we go about creating this from a grassroots level?

If we can take back the House, then we can introduce Articles of Impeachment. Until then, we have to forget it.

3. Get the fundies to realize that they are a tool |

and that their Gawdly man in the White House is a sinner. They will then join the crusade to get him out. We need a secret service guy to cough up a video of Bush doing Condi while snorting cocaine, taking the Lord's name in vain, looking at kiddie porno, and dancing.
Come to think of it, even that wouldn't work. They would just say that God's will is unknowable and forgive him.

the way they have Bugman DeLay. The Senate is "do-able" in terms of turning some moderates to our side, but the House is absolutely in lockstep with Jackass.

I guess what I'm asking is whether there are some loopholes somewhere. Someway, we can get this going other than the usual steps.

no matter how "outside-the-box" you think. some things just aren't possible given the existing circumstances. Hey, we're Democrats, not magicians.

Because this doom and gloom is something we are really good at, but it hasn't helped yet!

5. Been thinking about this myself |
|
First, I don't think it is impossible to get impeachment proceedings started in the house. Difficult, yes, but there are some people that are really beginning to question the sanity of the (mis)administration. The movement would have to be led by a respected Republican house member... who has nothing to lose.
Then, you have to start in the right place, and I believe that is with Cheney rather than Bush. Or do simultaneous impeachments.
In addition, Rove has to go. That one's tricky, but essential.
There are others who have to be curtailed in one way or another at the same time. Keep DeLay tied up with his indictments, for instance.

What if we sent some cute intern to seduce Bush and then leaked it to the press? Wouldn't the Repugs start impeachment proceedings themselves?
Sorry, I realize you weren't joking, but it would be nearly impossible to get an impeachment with the current Congress.

15. Call me a whiner all you want |
|
I want Bush, Cheney, Rove, Rice, Rumsfeld and a few others whose names blessedly escape me right now frog marched out of the Whitehouse. I suppose you could say I'm wanting this because I'm a vengeful partisan, but you would be wrong. I want this because they are criminals, fascists and they are about to destroy the country I live in.

|
against Bush to keep himself out of the pokey. Then we have .... Hastert. Shit! But by that time the Repubs are so demoralized and scandal-ridden that a Dem is a shoo-in in 08.

there isn't even a game, that is, no cards will be dealt unless the balance of power in the House changes in 2006 and that is about as likely as the bushturd becoming competent.

We should assemble a list of moderate Republicans in Congress and start, ahem, re-educating them, yes?
