1. I don't know, but if Ireland did and Clinton ran, he would win in a
landslide. In fact, no one would run against him.:-)

19. deVelera
The Irish Republic's first President was Eamon DeVelera. He was born in New York. However, his mother was from Ireland so he may have been considered a foreign-born Irish citizen. (He got his citizenship from his mother, not his place of birth.)

Also Golda Meir was born in NY.

I grew up in NY and had heard that she was born there. I guess it was misinformation I heard and thought was true.

2. Well, Iraq Seems to
and any other country the US chooses the leaders for. They're all foreign nationals who used to live in the US or who have worked for US corporations.

5. A Lot of Foreign Leaders Were Educated in the US
and lived here when they were young.

The one that I was thinking about in particular was Nguyen Van Thieu, who the US brought in from outside to rule South Vietnam in 1965. Karzai, Chalabi, and Allawi are cut from the same cloth.

9. Didn't India just have an election where the daughter of Gandi
won and frantically stepped down because it was obvious that they weren't going to accept her because she was born or raised outside the country?

11. yeah
I really do think though and disagree with me or whatever but I feel people who live here for at least 20 years around and are foreign born should run, they are often just as if not more loyal to the country.

10. Lots in Canada.
Here is the list for Federal Parliament. There are probably comparable lists for Provincial Legislatures and the Senate.

is occupied by a woman who was born in England and still lives there. :)

18. And her representative in Canada is
Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, C.C., C.M.M., C.O.M., C.D., Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada

Born in Hong Kong in 1939, Madame Clarkson came to Canada as a refugee with her family, during the war in 1942. She received her early education in the Ottawa public school system and later obtained an Honours B.A. and an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Toronto. She also did post-graduate work at the Sorbonne in France. Madame Clarkson is fluently bilingual.

though it's illegal there. Fujimori's campaign manager still insists his boss was born in Japan, not in Lima.
