I'm a newbie here so maybe you all have seen this already. Came across this site today while looking up the Constitution Restoration Act of 2004 and the idea of Dominionism( Google those two babies! OMG!!!). Despite the fact that my blood started to boil as I read their petitions - I gotta give them props for being this organized. Our leadership NEEDS to get this organized if we are to restore sanity to our white house and our country.

1. wtf!!!!!
what is this????

Don't let the nation's most prolific provider of abortions create more pregnant females to serve by telling 5th-grade Girl Scouts premarital sex is expected from them. Sign this petition to CEO Kathy Cloninger that urges the Girl Scouts of the USA to dissolve its ties with Planned Parenthood and revamp its policies before being trusted with America's daughters.:wtf:

2. I KNOW! These people are WHACKED!!!
As much as I defend their right to do what they want - I really think their efforts need to be counterbalanced from an effort on the left. If I had the cash I would start a liberal petitions website so that we could FLOOD legislators with our viewpoint. I'm a little frustrated that nobody in our party leadership, or an origanization/person with the power to do so, has come up with something like this already. This is just another example of why we lost the election.

4. Hmm...
Are there any websites like this for progressives? I don't know of any central source like this. It seems that petitions like "Stop Sinclair" etc are all done independently, so I know that many people can miss out on them. It would be awesome to go to one website and see a bunch of petitions worth signing. If one doesn't exist, I'd considering starting one. This election has got me itching to do something.

5. This is comedic.
Does "restoring the Constitution" mean restoring the original text without the 27 Amendments? Does this mean slavery is coming back, women lose the right to vote, and we get to pay that nice 23% federal state tax instead of the income tax (with 5% probably going to the Likud and a new ranch for DeLay)?

The one about branding Michael Moore a traitor is especially amusing (albeit scary). Hope they remember to replace Ashcroft with whoever the new guy is.

(I'm also a newbie. Pardon me if I don't make sense. My brain was boiled recently.)

6. Yes, but it is a great, STRATEGIC website.
In my opinion, Dems are too reluctant to embrace strategy.

10. it's all about God
Ludvig - I pulled the actual text of The Constitution Restoration Act of 2004 - "...Amends the Federal judicial code to prohibit the U.S. Supreme Court and the Federal district courts from exercising jurisdiction over any matter in which relief is sought against an element of Federal, State, or local government or officer of such government by reason of that element's or officer's acknowledgment of

(here's my favorite part...)

God as the sovereign source of law, liberty, or government."

It continues..."Provides that any Supreme Court justice or Federal court judge who exceeds the jurisdictional limitations of this Act shall be deemed to have committed an offense for which the justice or judge may be removed, and to have violated the standard of good behavior required of Article III judges by the Constitution."

Although the claim by its sponsors appears to be that the intention is to prevent the courts from hearing cases involving the Ten Commandments or a Nativity Scene in a public setting from being reviewed, the law is drawn broadly and expressly includes the acknowledgment of God as the sovereign source of law by an official in his capacity of executing his office.

7. What?
Have you not ever seen all the petitions that True Majority and Moveon, just to name two organizations, put forth and get thousands and thousands of signatures on?

8. Yes but...
The format of this conservative website is superb - moveon et al usually have just one, maybe two petition drives going at once. This is so centralized, tidy, and user-friendly.

9. exactly
I thought you would find this entertaining...
Here is why they say you should boycott Target...

"Target may well have choked under homosexual pressure to become the latest company to be coerced into political correctness by "gay rights" activists. It's a fact homosexual groups previously boycotted the Salvation Army's annual kettle drive because the Christian charity refused to extend benefits to homosexuals' domestic partners.

Target gave in when the company was boycotted by pro-life groups over its contributions to pro-abortion Planned Parenthood. Now the corporation again has yielded to pressure -- this time for the wrong reason."

13. Here's your last chance to tell me
if there is a progressive version of this site.
Otherwise, I am going to do start FrenchLovingHippiePetitions.com or something nutty like that. ;-)
