Do you believe in the Separation of Church and Pharmacy?
After Idalia and Jose Moran's son was born by C-section, Idalia Moran's doctor advised her not to get pregnant again for two to three years, and prescribed the pill.

But ... when she went to the pharmacy, the cashier said, "You know what? I cannot refill them because the pharmacist says it's against his religion because it's abortion."

I wonder if an Amish doctor could refuse to treat you if you got in a car accident or something.

Go Taliban Go!!

2. This makes my blood boil!
My sister-in-law, a ob-gyn nurse once bragged to me about refusing to participate in an abortion using the state's 'conscience laws.' My attitude is that if you won't do your job, you should be fired.

But at least, in view of the laws, just quietly hand the prescription back, and refer the person to another pharmacy.

And I agree with you other DUers that say that warning signs should be posted.

My husband dropped off my birth control prescription at Wal-Mart (I hate patronizing Wal-Mart, but it is quite a hassle to change, and I will be given a new one next month). I take the hormones for medical reasons (cyst prevention/reduction). I plan not to return to Wal-Mart, for so many reasons, but the pertinent one here is that they refuse to prescribe Plan B, and this retired social worker says that it is certainly better for a person to terminate a pregnancy this early...than for a child to be abandoned, abused or neglected later.

Thanks for listening.
