T.J. Walker's "Democratic Candidate Media Training School"
Anybody out there know anything about this? Is it legit? Is it effective? It sounds like a worthwhile exercise. Since I am considering running for Congress against Charles Taylor, this might be the place to start getting ready.

4. It's not Dean training actually; it's Democracy for America training.
They'll help train you as a candidate! Get in touch with Democracy for America if you plan to run. You can even apply for support from them.

(They hold trainings on a regular basis; keep in touch with them and sign up for the newsletter for announcements.)

What is Democracy for America?
Inspired by the presidential campaign of Howard Dean, Democracy for America (DFA) is a political action committee dedicated to supporting fiscally responsible, socially progressive candidates at all levels of government—from school board to the presidency. DFA fights against the influence of the far right-wing and their radical, divisive policies and the selfish special interests that for too long have dominated our politics.

DFA has a long-term goal that looks past November 2004. This organization will rebuild the Democratic Party from the bottom up—it will take time, but we must start building a base now for the future.

Texas has a chapter called Democracy for Texas.

See this:
http://www.democracyforamerica.com/candidates/states.php?state=Texas

and this:
http://www.democracyfortexas.org/

The organization's first annual get together, it turns out, is happening in Texas, so be sure to check it out!

Good luck to you!

6. Thanks!
BTW: I am no longer in Texas. I am in the mountains of western Transylvania County in North Carolina. My post office address is Brevard, NC.

3. I can heartily recommend TJ Walker
You may or may not remember him from the Lewinsky days when he was a pundit on OUR side. The freepers decided to go after him, and they attacked him viciously, accusing him of spreading kiddy porn, etc. That's when I got to know him.

He has been working as a media trainer for a long time, and has an excellent program. In the runup to BBV, he offered to provide Bev with his services gratis if she needed them.

So that's what I know about his background and his character. I would check it out, for sure.

5. A big Dem activist in Atlanta said the same thing.
TJ Walker's program is free, unless you want to pay for feedback. Sounds like the feedback might be worth it.
