Banned Again - Hannity.com
I've been banned, again, from hannity.com. I don't know why it happened this time. The first time, I went over the line. In fact, I tried to retract the post, and posted in the moderater's forum, asking if I should be banned. And I was.
I used proxies to gain other accounts, but those were fairly quickly banned. Then, I came back, cool as a cucumber. All I wanted to do was to confront distorted facts (lies). I kept it to that. But, I have been banned again. (sigh) They just want to keep the echo chamber free of dissent. I wasn't mean or anything, but I guess they just couldn't deal with a truth speaker.
I should spend more time here, giving support to my allies, anyway. It seems, though, the banning of dissent has been the consistent strategy of the right, by calling it unamerican, or by quashing alternative views by pushing a right wing media monster (Fox), or by attacking centrist (Dan Rather) reporters. The dissenters have been purged from the Bush administration, and now, are being purged from the media. You are the last stronghold left.

Best wishes for a happy Turkey Day,

Weird Howard

The Repugs wouldn't even let a non-Repug attend any of Georgie's campaign stops. It's just the way they are - they want to do all the talking, everyone else is wrong and their attitude is "take it or leave it". So, don't feel bad. This is where you belong!

Hannity is one of the stupidist FOX anchors.

And that's going some.

As an ExFox employee, you are lucky to keep the pox off of you.
He is as nasty and stupid as they come, just as Rupert likes them.

Ich, Oh, and ICH again...he's a nasty piece of work.

17. Joseph Goebbels
I think its fair to say we've exceeded our Nazi branding quota this year. If we want to be taken seriously we must consider that constant comparisons to Nazi's makes the comparison meaningless. Its like the guy that drops the F bomb all the time, after a while nobody pays attention.

Oh ya, and long time lurker, first time poster. :)

20. Sadly, the more we ignore the Nazi label...
The more the Neo-Cons (NC Party, f.k.a. Republican Party)act like Nazi's... Substitute the word "liberal" with the word "Jew" in any NC diatribe (Rush, Coulter, Hannity) and you can't help but hear echoes of Nazi slime... Please remember, if it weren't for Pearl Harbor, the Republicans might have had us actually supporting the Nazi's if they'd happen to have won back the presidency in 1942...

22. I think comparing them with fascists is appropriate
But I agree that concentrating the comparison on Nazism weakens the larger point that the neocons represent, in my opinion, a modern form of fascism.

23. But,
If you have a stockbroker who is cheating investors, there's no reluctance call it a Ponzi scheme... If someone is burning buildings, you don't "diminish" your argument by referring to him as an arsonist. If they are going to continue to use Nazi tactics and take Nazi-esque positions, they will forever be Nazi's.

26. Nazis are demonized and caricatured as goose-stepping
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 10:09 AM by deutsey
embodiments of all-out evil. They were indeed evil, but I'm saying our popular culture has turned them into villianous stock characters that are alien to "our way" of life (that began with Allied propaganda during the war and remains part of contemmporary pop culture). We lack the larger understanding of what fascism really is. It's kind of like the Right labeling everyone on the Left as "Commies." That conjures up dour Russian apparatchiks at a May Day parade in Red Square or Maoist fanatics waving red flags during the Cultural Revolution, but does not accurately convey the many differences on the Left.

I'm on the Left and I identify with American socialism that developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries here in this country. I don't identify with Russian or Chinese Communism at all. In fact, I reject them. There's a huge difference here and throwing a "Commie" label at me misses the enormous complexity and variety inherent in that difference.

It seems like to me that when we compare Bush et al. to Nazis, people can say, well, they're not all goose-stepping around with armbands and sieg hiels and talking with funny German accents. Even those who might see some similarity can say that the neocons aren't as rabid and extreme in their thuggery as the Nazis were (or they aren't as overtly rabid and extreme).

Nazism is but one form of fascism, a form that was manifested in a certain culture at a certain time. The German Nazi regime was defeated; fascism continued on and, in my opinion, has morphed here in the US into what we're seeing now with the Bush regime.

You can keep calling them Nazis if you want; I think it would be better to stop using such shorthand and actually try to educate people about what fascism is really all about: corporatism.

As Mussolini said: "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." Throw in militarism and authoritarianism wrapped in a nice marketing/PR strategy with good ol' American nationalism and you've got the Bush Regime.

terms are both so emotionally charged in the popular perception that the overuse of them does often serve to dilute the underlying message.

28. While I certainly agree
that there are similarities that equate to fascism, the Shrubbies do not seem to believe that exterminating Jews is good public policy.

I agree with a previous poster that using fascism is better because it is a dictionary term and can thus continue to define people and organizations, especially those that do not allow forms of speech that they do not like. German National Socialism i.e. "The Nazis" was destroyed in 1945.

gained power. Who knows what these thugs will do in the next 5 years?

I do agree that using "fascism" is a better phrase than using "Nazis." I also think that in 50 years, "Bush Regime" will have a similar connotation as "Nazism."

32. Really?
According to www.remember.org, 1940 was the year that Nazis started mass-murder of Jews in Poland. BTW, something I found interesting was this:
http://www.remember.org/educate/mtimeline.html
1933

The Nazi party takes power in Germany. Adolf Hitler becomes chancellor,or prime minister of Germany.- Nazis 'temporarily' suspend civil liberties

- The Nazis set up the first concentration camp at Dachau. The first inmates are 200 Communists.

- Books with ideas considered dangerous to Nazi beliefs are burned.

When that proved inefficient, they built dedicated extermination camps, without even the pretense of "standard" prisons.

Howard, I don't remeber what you were originally banned for.

I do like that both sides of the aisle can post, I wish we would let a little more dissent in here.

There is one guy over there named Dave that does nothing but troll the DU and post threads about it. He brags about being banned multiple times here, like he's doing some super secret spy work, lol.

It's such an extreme obession, I bet he literally masturbates while he reads the posts here.
