Republicans are going to be destroyed by 2008 |
|
This country is going in such a bad direction that the next few years will kill the Republican Party. All of the hell that is going to surface will surface on their watch and they won't get away with pointing their fingers at the Clinton Admin. (although they will try) The real intentions of these crazies will become more apparent, Iraq will worsen, our isolsation will escalate and our economy will break. All on Bush's watch, the Republicans will become pariahs. The public will wake up and they will smell the coffee. We will overcome this horrible group and the Republican party will suffer the most for it. They will lose all credibility. They had their chance to make things right but they supported this crazy administration now they will all go down with it. We have to be ready and have good solid Democratic leaders waiting in the wings, because their voices will be heard soon. Their leadership will be looked for soon. The American people will wake up because of the continuing bad news and threat of more wars. When more kids are called up to go to war and some of the "Red" states start sending young men and women off to fight yet another war.....well the light bulbs will go off and more and more Americans will start wising up.
Election Fraud won't help because if worse comes to worse, massive protests will shake this country to it's very foundation.
This is my prediction and I am not a fortune teller, I am using pure logic and if I am wrong....I would seriously advise all of us Democrats to move to Canada.

IF we don't just sit back and wait for an implosion. We're going to have to actively work to nudge them along.

3. But nothing we have done so far has worked. Over half the |

population didn't hear the alarm clock go off. It will take true anger at this administration to bring us back to coherence.

6. Bush got away with much because things are bad but most of the |
|
voting public isn't feeling or seeing it yet. It will come to light this next 4 years. The troubles will surface and more of the Americans will realize what is going on. Bush started major problems but they aren't exactly affecting the Americans in a way that they could really feel. Bush also had 9/11 to garnish support, and the fact that we were attacked was blamed (effectively) on Clinton. How many people said that Bush was only in office for 9 months? So he didn't take the blame for 9/11 but used 9/11 for sympathy, Americans rallied around him, Bush used it for the economy (and also blamed Clinton), he won't get off of the hook so easily as some of the results of his disasterous decisions become more evident to the American People. He won't be able to hide behind Clinton and he will have to answer to many worsening crisis. We need to be prepared and we need to have some coherent messages and solutions ready.

What you say is logical, but so was the idea of Bush getting his butt kicked this year by Kerry. So, I don't know what to say.

4. I sure hope you are right. It seems that there should already be |
|
enough evidence to bury the GOP in their own garbage can. I'm afraid that the "moral" right wing wackos will continue to flourish, for I believe it was their vote that took this election. They can only grow in numbers. If it weren't for them and their refusal to be logical and questioning, John Kerry would be president right now. We can't count on the GOP to win our next election for us just by their own blundering. I feel strongly that the wackos shouldn't be catered to, but treated as the shameful fools that they are. Unfortunately, the media is already behaving as if their voices deserve respect; while I feel their venom and inanity should be met with disbelief, horror, righteous indignation and/or just plain 'ol dismissal. I have no doubt that what we must do is get this country to see that democratic thinking and action comes from a deeply serious moral position that is based not only in rational thought and ethical action but also in the same Judeo-Christian traditions that they refer to. Perhaps we Dems should do a lot of writing: books, essays, letters, and get the message out not just on our own bulletin boards and radio stations but into the mainstream where it will be heard by those who may be influenced by it.

I do think that it will be harder now for Bush to avoid being blamed for our troubles, the 9/11 sympathy is waning and the fruition of Bush's decisions are coming to roost.

5. But, as long as they count the votes |
|
As long as they count the votes, they can hang on to power. As long as they continue to push fraudulent technology into our voting system. they can stayt in power. We have to expose the fraud!

We have to address the voting problem and the fact that we didn't address it in this election has me troubled. We all knew that it was a possibility, so how did they get away with it? The Dems raised as much money as the Repubs why were there not tighter controls? I would love a GOOD answer from someone on that question.

11. Count the votes AND rule on the lawsuits |
|
don't forget their control of the courts... bu**sh** has already named over 20% of the judges on the federal courts, I've seen estimates that he may end up naming up to half of them before he leaves office (assuming the investigation/recount doesn't overturn the announced results).

9. We also have to be prepared to respond if there's another terrorist |
|
attack in this country. Or when there's another terrorist attack in this country. Because the knee-jerk reaction will inevitably be steered toward "we HAVE to UNITE behind Our President!" What we have to bring up in that case is - "yeah, this is the guy who assured us HE was the one who'd keep us safe. How's he working out for ya, 'eh?"

10. American Conservative Mag feared the same thing |
|
They feared it when one of their writers endorsed Kerry for President... he said that Bush was so bad that another 4 years would set the conservative movement back a generation or more, while if Kerry had won, he'd be stuck with the twin huge problems of Iraq & the budget deficit requiring so much work that he'd not be able to accomplish much, leaving him a ripe target in 2008.

12. I think the economy will bring down the Repugs.. |
|
even the "moral" right has pocketbooks. There are more articles and warnings coming out about the danger of our trade deficit and the effect it will have on interest rates. To finance our current overseas debt we have to import 2.6 billion dollars a day. Our household debt is now 85% of the total economy. It looks like they will have to raise interest rates very high to curb inflation in this type of economic environment. Anyone with variable rate mortgages will get killed and banks will be stuck with the fixed rate mortgages. The Shrubbites seem to be gleefully running up deficits at will and there seems to be no end in sight.

Unfortunately, many of us will probably be lucky to live through the next four years. And then, who's to say they won't just rig the vote?
These people are beyond merely criminal and will do anything to maintain power. Elections, votes etc. mean nothing to them. If you think we can get rid of them via the '08 election because the country will be completely fucked up by then, think again.

15. I've heard this before |
|
In 2002 and 2004.
Perhaps we need to look at what we mean when we say "this country is going in such a bad direction" and ask ourselves if a majority of voters share that opinion. It is apparent to me that they do not, which is why we lose elections.

21. 9/11 wasn't in play 02' or 04' and we were not at war in 02'. |
|
04' is the beginning of many looming and possible wars starting with the immedicate escalation of the troops in Iraq, hence forth triggering - a draft of some sort. That will be the first big step backwards for this administration. When more and more young people are being sent to Iraq and then overtures get made for us going to Iran or N. Korea. Well, many people will wake up.

They will "declare" victory and pull out the troops before they bring back the draft. The Republicans want one thing: power. Karl Rove knows that bringing back the draft would be the kiss of death in the first election that follows such action. That's why it will never happen. Pat Buchanan (a right wing wacko who happens to be an isolationist) summed up this political reality nicely: "The empire will die first"--meaning that given a choice between a draft and abandoning a neo-con foreign policy, the Republicans will give the neo-cons the boot.

24. The Repubs had their chance in 04 to get rid of the Neocons |
|
That was their last chance, now they will be doomed. The Neocons are punch drunk with power and will push forth thier agenda, not the Repubs agenda, but thier agenda. So I wouldn't be too sure about them NOT instituting a Draft, they are warming up the crowds with McCain as we speak. I have seen them do this dance before.

It's over, for at least a generation. Just yesterday, Hillary, Harry Reed and lotsa other Dems voted for the budget bill - even though John McCain & other Republicans voted against.
We have no national party - and those who believe we have any voice are fools. Most of our elected officials only want to be re-elected, and will do anything with that goal in mind.
Democracy is dead. Get used to it.

Or where will we be? I am thinking of Ukraine. The ruling party there destroyed itself, but if all the people just stayed home and took it, like we stayed home and took it this time, it wouldn't matter. Business as usual, "destroyed" or not. I have no doubt they could engineer another election victory in 2008, but I hope things are different then.
