PDA Unites with DFA for December "Meetups"
Building Alliances = IMHO a very good thing!
=============================================

PDA Unites with DFA for December "Meetups"
November 23, 2004

The month of December marks an important event for Progressive Democrats of America (PDA). We have been working closely with various groups that have grown out of the Democracy for America (DFA) movement. A look at our Alliance page reveals various DFA chapters and local groups working with us to further the progressive agenda within the Democratic Party. Over the past few weeks, this relationship has progressed through several conference calls with PDA and DFA activists from all over the United States. As a result of our conversations with Tom Hughes, DFA's National Political Director, and Howard Dean, we are being included as part of DFA's next Meetup agenda.

Meetups have become a staple in the DFA, and the progressive movement at large. Cooperating with DFA's national office, we have created a packet for the next nationwide Meetup introducing PDA and explaining how we can work together to accomplish our goals.

We encourage all of our PDA members to go to http://dfa.meetup.com and find out how to join local DFA activists during the December DFA Meetups. DFA is an integral partner in the progressive movement, and we are honored to be invited to their next Meetup.

Before you go, please to go http://www.pdamerica.org/tools and download a PDA/DFA Meetup Packet.

Call your friends and family and plan to go together. Once you're there, listen to what the DFA grassroots are up to. Introduce yourself. Help us unite this movement at the grassroots level.

We look forward to seeing cooperative actions at the local level. We will succeed united as Progressive Democrats. It is your involvement at these local level meetings that pushes the movement forward.

Thank you for your time, energy and enthusiasm.
PDA's Alliance Team,

Tim Carpenter, Kevin Spidel, Pam Paul

10. DFA open to all who are concerned about future of America
Edited on Thu Dec-02-04 12:44 PM by realFedUp
Many who are not Democrats but Indies, Greens, Libs
are looking for a way to become activists in their
own communities. DFA is already in place in many
communities and welcomes anyone who is outraged
by Bush Inc.'s policies and wants to become more
involved in either running for local offices or
just being with like-minded people. The Democratic
Party tends to close up shop between elections
but DFA intends to keep registering voters, remind
voters of what's happening locally in their school
boards, city councils etc. and to inspire and train
candidates to run for those positions.

If you want to attend a local DFA Meetup, the first
Wednesday of the month, go to
http://www.democracyforamerica.com/local

Who knows...you might meet another DUer :-)

12. Yep....they are looking for a place to vent
keep rolling out the carpet with opportunities
for them to do that and then move on to action.
