Hilllary Clinton is more conservative than her husband
Clinton would likely have vetoed that terrible budget. It was apalling that so many blue state dem senators voted for it.

I realized this within months of her coming into the senate. One of her first votes was a bankruptcy "reform" bill that Clinton had vetoed several months before.

She's voted for many of the major aspects of Bush's agenda. She voted for the PATRIOT Act, the war resolution, the 87 billion, and now this. I'm sure there is even more that I forgot but so far she's been a huge disappointment.

If she gets the nomination we will face a greater defeat than this year. It will be one of the biggest disasters in years. I don't see why so many Dems like her. And while she's a decent speaker, she hasn't a fraction of the charisma and charm her husband has.

2. Absolutely correct
No way would she make a good leader. She is just another sheep, like most of the democrats in congress now

3. She a " good speaker"?

Compared to whom? She does sound like she's taken a truckload of " eeee--low---cuuuu-tion" lessons but this does not a good public speaker make. What was the old joke about the fire in the fireside chat going out?

Thanks for separating Hillary the Fact from Hillary the Fantasy. They are two utterly distinct and separate entities.

Plus I'm at a loss to think of what state she could possibly carry that Kerry did not. Anyone?

Paul

8. She lost ANY chance she had for my vote Saturday night
when she voted for that omnibus bill. What would it have hurt her to vote "No, I cannot vote on a 3000 page spending bill with only two hours to review it...only an idiot would do that"

But she did not, and now she is done for me....period

9. President Hillary
Edited on Wed Nov-24-04 06:59 PM by talk hard
Hillary is setting herself to run for president. She'll have none of those pesky votes for the Republicans to excavate and nail to her front door.

I am completely undecided about her. On one hand I'd love another Clinton to kick the shit out of the Rs just for fun. Sort of getting back for the 8-year jihad against her husband.

But then again I really don't want the same gaggle of Clinton-haters revved up. But let's face it, whatever Dem does win in the future will get the same "special" treatment.

I like Wesley Clark.

But I LUV Barack Obama. He has a bright future.

...I voted for Bill Clinton both times and I have the upmost respect for him. I also have respect for Hilliary but to have her run for president I personally think it would be a disaster. I don't think she will not make past the prmaries if she did run. But if she some how managed to pull the rabbit out of the hat I would have to vote for her because I would never vote republican. I would never vote for her in the primaries. I also think alot of people are starting to wake up and realize regardless of how much they like and respect her she would never be a Bill Clinton.

11. would I vote for her? yes
Would I vote for Joe Lieberman? yes
Would I vote for Dennis Kucinich? yes
Would I vote for Evan Bayh? yes
Would I vote for Paul Wellstone? yes

Any Democrat is better than ANY Republican.

And I really think that Hillary wouldn't do as badly as people think she would. I don't know if she'd win if she ran, but I think a hell of a lot of people would silently vote for her.

Is she my first choice? no, but if given that woman to choose between her and a republican, I'll gladly vote for her.

Is Sen. Zell Miller better than Sen. Lincoln Chafee?

18. zell is a special case
He's the exception that basically proves the rule.

Wait two months and find a Democrat worse than Chafee. Not that Chafee is bad, but he pumps up the GOP majority and for that reason, he's worse than any Democrat.

21. You're right about Zell
Zell is so bad, the Republican who replaced him is actually to the left of him. The nightmare scenario would have been Zell vs. Bush. Wonder who the Repukes would have voted for...

15. A sure win ticket
That's a team that could win in the south and midwest, where we need to win. I bet they would be a great team in the White House too. That's a dream ticket.

13. Not really
Hillary is our best chance to bring socialism to this country. She is hard core and knows one must do whatever is necessary to gain power.

14. She has all the negative baggage of a socialist
That's how she's viewed by much of the public. I don't see the reason to go to all the trouble to elect someone with such a liberal image and then not even get a real liberal.

26. Hillary used to be more liberal than Bill
But now she thinks it's in her best interest to move right. The first committee she got assigned to was Senate Armed Services.

I'd like to see a woman get to the top, totally on her own merit. Not because she was married to the President, & then launched her career off that.

27. Something happens to people when they get to be senators
and get entrenched in the good old boys club. The goal is to get elected again and not anything as silly as standing up for the people, even though it is obvious that where we are headed is for fascism .

The system, imo, is very broken and all visions of the right thing to do disappear under this system.

into the White House, even if it means corrupting an election, and look how easy this was to do? Hillary would need to get a divorce first.
