Where are OUR huge demonstrations?
I think it is about time to organize a Ukraine-like protest. We are being refused the right to even know if our election was fair or not. :(

everyone's talking on their cell phones, business as usual.

8. macy's and FOX news
i don't know about other macy's branches but mine has three tv screens in the women's fitting room areas permanently tuned to Fauxnews. there is a little sign on them saying that Faux and on other sports channel are the only ones permitted. several times the volume was up so high that i left the area. i've complained in writing and in person and told them why i was refusing to patronise them.

this last week only one of the three was on.

it's like orwell's '1984'

21. see, but the thing about not patronising stores is
that you don't go there. do you keep going there just to make a point of the tv being on faux news, or because you are not sticking to your boycott?

write a million letters saying you are boycotting them for faux news, but as long as their sales stay up, it won't matter.

29. I had to complain multiple times at my bank before they removed Pox
from their in-the-bank TV monitors. I complained verbally, I called, and I complained again - and not just to the manager but to any tellers I could find who didn't have customers. One of the tellers even tried to argue with me - about how you can't do anything about Rupert Murdoch. Well, maybe small-minded people who don't care to try what they can to effect change can't do anything about Rupert Murdoch, but I refuse to be one of those. Needless to say, the last time I went in there, they had MSNBC on. THEN, I told the teller I saw that I very much appreciated their having another channel on, and repeated how offended I was when they had the Pox "news" network on.

Sigh... you just have to KEEP complaining. And then you have to add positive reinforcement when they rectify the situation, to let them know their actions have been noticed and appreciated. And if you buy anything there at that point, tell them THAT is why you have decided to return as a customer and give them your business.

If they think you don't care, THEY WON'T, EITHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too busy watching "Survivor" and sports to go out and be discomforted by standing out side for days at a time and demanding to know the truth about the elections!!!!!

4. maybe you have to go through years of Soviet style
oppression in order to wake the masses up. Ukraine now, Georgia last year or so, Poland, Romania and others have all post Soviet era staged huge demonstrations demanding that their democracy be recognized.

But the unwashed are all too busy lining up at the Mall of the Americas getting that bargain made in China for a buck off regular price - while your dollar goes down down down.

And anyway around 70% of Americans must be happy with the current regime as that many did not vote for Kerry.

5. Fair elections are THE key to democracy
Are we really not going to organize, demonstrate, and force the media to pay attention to the fact that we deserve to know if this election was fair or not? I'm willing to stand out in front of the capitol for as long as it takes.

15. We Need To Have A Massive Protest In Ohio or.....
...Florida. We need one that is bigger than what we had in New York. I just seen on CNN where these dumbasses in Texas were standing outside a coffee shop holding signs in support of Bush and hollaring democracy for Ukraine. Now that is the kinda shit that should piss everyone off and ask FUCK UKRAINE WHERE IS DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA. We need to get it together I'm sure Randi Rhodes and Mike Malloy would help get the word out. We need to do this. Any ideas anyone?

19. So where do you want this to go?
I live in the midwest and can't possibly come to NYC or Washington for a protest. I could stand on my own corner with a sign but that would look pretty silly.

I am ready to do SOMETHING at this point but want it to count. Any ideas? Other than writing letters I am not sure what to do.

It's sad but without the aid of the media we will make no progress with any protest. So it seems like continuing to contact the media is our smartest option. But what can we do on a big scale?

20. well in that thread
It clearly shows why protesting in NYC is what is needed. The fact that FAUX's main studios are there and the fact that FAUX is despised by just about every news organization in the city ( NYC is the news capital of the US) would have made it a sure thing that coverage would have been given. All of this is in the thread, starting with the opening post and the links included.

Bush: Validity of Ukraine Vote in Doubt
CRAWFORD, Texas - President Bush (news - web sites) declared Friday that charges of voter fraud have cast doubt on the Ukrainian election...

"There's just a lot of allegations of vote fraud that placed their election, the validity of their elections, in doubt," Bush said. "The international community is watching very carefully. People are paying very close attention to this, and hopefully it will be resolved in a way that brings credit and confidence to the Ukrainian government."

24. Go the the Activism and Events Forum and set one up!
Most of us keep saying the same thing. Where are OUR protests? Well, we ARE the leaders I guess.

Go to that forum and organize an event in the nearest large city in your area.

Columbus has one planned. The also is the counter-inauguration planned. Another event planned is called Turn Your Back On Bush at the inauguration.

Also on the net is a place called protest.net You can check on any protests and post your own.

We can't wait for other people to lead us out of this wilderness. We have to be the leaders now.

28. Look at the crowds at the parades
Parades have literaly turned into a marketing march. 24hr news channels cover these things because there are HUGE CROWDS GATHERING.

The funny thing is when protest crowds gather, they never cover it? did you see the crowd Kerry gathered in Philly? no? exactly.

/sometimes its so obviouse
