3. Not me
I always thought the "vote for IWR was a vote for war" only sold on DU. In real life, no one ever says that to me

7. I'm a big fan of Kerry and Dean, but this goes against media perception
Their roles have been dug for them, but apparently Iowa isn't having of it at this time in the counting.

6. Wes Clark did not vote for IWR
and he has more rows of ribbons than Kerry.

Smart move for Clark to skip Iowa.

4. The spin of saying that IWR was not a war resolution worked!
Tell that to the 503 dead GIs and countless others dead and wounded that a vote for IWR was not a vote for war.

14. either that or
the people in Iowa are more intelligent than some candidates gave them credit for. It is possible that they understood the IWR, what bush did, and weren't spun

8. They Are, Sir
People who want to win an election come fall. It is no great mystery.

The rank and file of the party wants nothing more than defeat of the criminals of the '00 Coup in the general election, and people are making their decision based on their own perceptions of electability.

For better or worse, electability is likely to trump all else.

11. In My View, Sir, It Is Certainly For The Better
Nothing can be done without defeating the worst of the enemy: there is no substitute for it. The people are not fools....

19. Sure wish they would help put my state in play.
The only candidates who I think can compete here are Dean annd Clark. Some say Gep could have since it's his home state, but guns would kill him here in the GE.

10. people who vote for a guy who supported what they
believe for over 30 years, who can beat Bush (as opposed to a guy who recently decided to be a liberal after governing from the center-right, who doesn't have a chance in hell of beating Bush).

12. i'm in that 27%... it's not so shocking really.
if anyone read Will Pitt's article "the trial of john kerry," they outta agree. Bush "fucked up" the war.

"Do you think bush would wanna stand next to a guy who's about six feet four, looks like he's right off of mount rushmore and.. Do you think Bush would try to diss him?" - Chris Matthews
HAHAHA! WOO.

15. Wow, vote for an illegal war, indirectly murder thousands of people
and you get the Anti-war vote??

This is beyond the pale, I can't believe this at all and I seriously question this Poll.

If true, well, Americans will buy anything including a pro-war, Bush rubber-stamper, convinced that he's anti-war.

18. Passionate enough to embrace the draft and kill people
Sorry, but he went over, even if his intensions were "good," he still participated in an illicit war and IMO compromised on his ideals. A true anti-war person would have sat in jail rather than fight that war.
