LTTE from the Orlando Sentinel (11/29) --
Drives me crazy.
___________ U.S. is Christian nation
The last time I checked, this nation was founded upon the wording of the Constitution, and not upon letters written by Thomas Jefferson. God was a major factor in all documents leading to the establishment of this nation and, with the ratification of the Constitution, it was accepted that we were a nation under God.
Had this not been the intent, the Constitution would not have been approved. We were established as a Christian nation, and of that there is no doubt, but with religious freedom for those who chose to worship otherwise.
The government is limited in establishing a church, which it has not done. But in no way is it otherwise restricted in supporting the work of God within its citizenry.

This fundigelical racket is a big money-maker. The ministers fill their heads, program them, wind them up and send them off to browbeat an unsuspecting world. The ministers get their dosh.
Time for the more mainstream denominations to stand up and be counted. Way past time.

13. he actually doesn't care about any of the theo-con social agenda |
|
but he doesn't mind using it to gain control and pass the idiotic economic agenda.
He owns a small business. I can't wait to point out to him that his stupid party's economic plans will take away his tax write-off for medical insurance and eliminate his state and local taxes as write-offs for his personal income tax.
So what if you get a flat tax and pay 5% less to the feds if your paying it on a larger chunk of your earned income. If bushco is talking of flat tax being revenue neutral then someone is going to be picking up the slack for the reduced tax paid by multi-millionaires and billionaires. Guess what. That leaves the rest of us footing the bill.

4. Someone needs to educate the guy as to one of the reasons |
|
it took so long to ratify the Constitution. Said reason being that the majority of those ratifying it wanted religious references REMOVED and would not ratify until this occurred.
