DUers, rate this Yahoo article re: Ohio recount

Let's prevent this from slipping through the cracks:

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Nearly a month after John Kerry (news - web sites) conceded Ohio to President Bush (news - web sites), complaints and challenges about the balloting are mounting as activists including the Rev. Jesse Jackson (news - web sites) demand closer scrutiny to ensure the votes are being counted on the up-and-up.

Jackson has been holding rallies in Ohio in recent days to draw attention to the vote, and another critic plans to ask the state Supreme Court this week to decide the validity of the election.

Ohio essentially decided the outcome of the presidential race, with Kerry giving up after unofficial results showed Bush with a 136,000-vote lead in the state.

If it's not the same, it's similar.

I almost kakked over the comment from Blackwell, after Jackson said that Blackwell can't be both oversee the Bush campaign in Ohio and the election in Ohio. They have a bi-partisan and transparent election system he said. Oh, and that's why they were trying to throw out registrations. That's why they're changing their mind on whether provisionals (or was it absentee) ballots needed to have a birth date on the outside of the envelope right in the middle of the process.

Bi-partisan my fanny.

And if it's so transparent, then there should be no problem with an investigation. After all, there's nothing to hide? Right, Mr. Blackwell? And should some "irregularities" come to light, it would be in the best interest of the bi-partisan process to fix them. Right, Mr. Blackwell?

Blackwell's spokesman commented that the only reason Jackson is raising a stink is because "his candidate didn't win."

So, if the system is broke, but favors y'all, then no worries. Well, then we'll just have to see about breaking it in the other direction. If you leave the flaws in, then you can become a victim to them just as easily as the Dems. But, apparently, that's not a problem. The system is just fine the way it is. Right then.

If such things ever favor Dems, you can bet they'd want it fixed in record time.

Gromph.
