Is It Me, Or Does This Kofi Anan - Son Thing Look Rovian?
After reading and watching "Bush's Brain," I really wonder.

1. Smells fishy to me.
Their goal is to undermine the UN even if they have to lie to make it happen.

2. What about the American companies that were
involved in the oil for food scandal? It hit the papers before the election and then dropped out of sight...as well as the second part of a CIA report about the pre-Iraq intel and the second part of the 9/11 report naming names of people who dropped the ball on it.

8. I don't get it.
Why would Bush and co. bother to undermine the UN when they've shown little regard for them in the past? They ignore resolutions, don't pay the dues, etc.

I just don't think they care that much. That said, Bush is a prime opportunist, and I can see him jumping onto a minor issue like this, blowing it out of proportion, and using it as a weapon against Annan. Old scores, I think.

for months.

Ah , but the bit about the two or three Repub donors that are also fingered ....never gets a mention.

....as mentioned here ( 4 US Companies , 3 Individuals)

http://newstandardnews.net/content/?action=show_item&itemid=1104

more detail about the individuals..

The 918-page report says that four U.S. oil companies - Chevron, Mobil, Texaco and Bay Oil - and three individuals, including Oscar Wyatt Jr. of Houston, were given vouchers and got 111 million barrels of oil between them from 1996 to 2003. The vouchers allowed them to profit by selling the oil or the right to trade it.

The other individuals, whose names appeared on a secret list maintained by the former Iraqi government, were Samir Vincent of Annandale, Virginia, and Shakir Al-Khafaji of West Bloomfield, Michigan, according to the report by the inspector, Charles Duelfer.

4. Exactly! Why are they kicking this unbelievably, but all the scandals
that bushco is involved with hit a dead end!! i.e. Haliburton, CIA leak, swearing of secrecy of the 9-11 commission until after the election, etc.
