listening to rush,,,(I need to know what the enemy says)

Our real work begins now electing more DEm senators.

Rush says bushy is gonna use his "political capital" to get the majority over 60 votes to prevent any dissention in the senate.

It is our job to make sure we get MORE dems in there

1. I will get back with you in January on that!
I don't feel like being involved in campaign issues right now!

Face it, if the idiot remains in office for 4 more years and if the repukes flaunt their power like they are now, our job to get dems or libs or greens or independents in office will be much easier.

The mandatory psychiatric treatment for children
OR
The draft
OR
The Wars in Iran & Syria (added to Iraq)
OR
No health care
OR
The destruction of Social Security
OR
the destruction of the environment
OR
. . .

Will make it much easier to get dems in office - who they gonna blame but the repukes?

2. the elections have been tampered with in 2000, 02 and 04
Tell me what plan there is to keep the fraud out of the next one.
There should have been a plan to deal with it this time. There was plenty of proof it was coming.

Im sorry but unless it gets fixed we are, to paraphrase "phucked again"

3. Until DEMS learn to speak the plain truth about the GOP, forget it.
Until I see DEMS going on TV and speaking the plain, unvarnished truth about the criminal activity & dishonesty of the GOP, I'm not doing shit for them.

Dr Fate helps those who help themselves.

4. GB-
the problem is that the THE THE issue of 2004 is voter enfranchisement...

we didn't get phucked; the constitution was reduced to toilet paper by the repugs and no "significant" democrat other than Jesse Jackson has raised their voice above a whisper to ensure that every vote cast is counted, that everyone who wants to vote can vote...

you can't win when you've refused, failed, lacked the imagination or courage to point out that they- as in the republican they- now count only the votes they want to count-

aside from civic duty and blind faith, since the dems on the national level don't seem (hope against hope for a December surprise, making me eat my words) to think that guarenteeing my vote means something more than pissing into the wind, can the dems give me a good reason to vote at all for them in 2006?

other than we aren't them, we are human beings, we care, we have a long history of caring? those are all important, beleive me...

but if the dems feel that there is a thresdhhold to the point at which they will fight for enfranchisement- (and don't tell me nothing is proveable yet)- 3 and a half mil votes perhaps-- my response is a) i believe that many of those 3.5 mil votes seperating Bush and Kerry are bogus and b) it may not matter to the Kerry cause, but in some cases, 2 or 3 thousands of those "funky votes" could've made the difference in a senate or house race....

the dems have had three chances now to turn this enfranchisement thing around- 2000, when they got caught flatfooted, but really made a stand; 2002, when they apparently ignored vote theft; and 2004, where according to a note posted last night by a constituent of Barney Frank, they know somethings are wrong but there simply may not be a legal venue in which to challenge anything since it is afterall the republiocans who are counting the vote...

this ain't baseball, but three strikes...

seems like it may be time for another team to take a turn at bat.

and i don't consider myself a doomsayer or an abandon shipper...
more like an old-fashioned activist questioning the status quo...

5. Until we have verifiable paper trails on electronic voting...
Edited on Mon Nov-29-04 08:00 PM by zulchzulu
..fuck it. We lose again.

The real work is to change the BBV machines. That's first. Otherwise, we don't vote or protest voting instead.

It's like playing golf with the opponent who knows where the hole is and uses real golf clubs (and cheats) and you use twigs with a blindfold tied around your eyes.

Gee, I wonder who wins...

 :puke: :wow:

7. HOW???
Edited on Mon Nov-29-04 08:04 PM by SmokingJacket
Worked our asses off and lost.

Don't have another ass.

Even if we did, why would it work this time?

We can't "make sure" of anything at this point. It's ridiculous. Something has to change -- something out of our control (world falling apart under **, for example) or else election fraud revealed. Because we did OUR BEST, and can't conceive of doing more than we already did.

Not to be negative! But this "rallying the troops" talk is just poorly timed.

8. And Rush will be right
because until the electoral system is demolished and rebuilt, we don't have a prayer of a chance to elect more Senators, Reps, or another President! I wish the Democratic Party would awaken to this fact. And many dems in my neck of the woods are not going to work for the party unless and until we can be guaranteed of honest and transparent elections! I really think the dems are in denial about what the grassroots are thinking. They had best start getting and staying in touch with the people who financially support them and do their "grunt work"!

9. voting as it is now, is a facade feelgood to make us THINK we are voting.
Edited on Mon Nov-29-04 10:02 PM by AgadorSparticus
it means nothing without accountability. until we get this straightened out, we have essentially lost our voting rights.

11. I disagree . . . our real work is in 2004 . . .
because if we don't expose the election fraud, 2006 won't make any difference at all . . . they stole it in 2000, they stole it in 2002, and they stole it in 2004 . . . if we don't stop them now, we might just as well stay home in 2006, because they'll steal it again . . .
