I have a flier idea. Is it legal? Will it stop the war?
If we put a flier in each bill we pay, we can get the word out. A flier with a picture something like the napalm girl running from soldiers in Vietnam. And words like
"Sending our kids to kill their kids isn't making us safer." (That was the idea of another poster on this forum) Or "Is this what you want America to do on your behalf?" Or "What if they were doing this here?" Or "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Or any number of statements. It would be seen by workers, and probably passed around whatever company it went to. It seems like it would be effective, and even legal.

We have desanitized the truth. Wasn't it the truth, the whole truth, the painful truth that finally helped stop Vietnam? People need to see what is being done in their names, which they are not seeing. Out of sight, out of mind. Think of what effect a flier in every bill could make.

2. It's definitely legal. (gory pic warning!!!!)
And, it's not a bad idea. The only real problem would be copyright issues with whatever picture you chose (though the ones that would work best for such an effort would most likely be taken by someone who would wholeheartedly endorse the idea).

The one picture that continually stands out in my mind is this one that I've used to illustrate the atrocities many times:

There's another picture out there of the same man leaning against a wall crying his eyes out, but I don't have it available right now.

4. That's it. That's the one that "kills" me every time.
That is so sad on so many levels. The entire scene is death. The caring. The sadness. I can't even look, it's so heart wrenching.

5. Sadly, that is from the early days of the war
There are thousands and thousands more now. How can any sane person believe that after we destroy their nation and kill their children we will be seen a liberators? Bush is feeding the fires of hatred.

3. Excellent idea
And don't forget to include all the fliers that come with your bills. I send them back with my check every month.

P.S. I love your flag.

6. Here's a couple. I'm not too good at this stuff...
I want someone to "get it". I want someone to realize something. And then tell someone else. It seems ridiculously obvious to us. But we're killing. So someone doesn't get it.

12. I wager they would not allow this idea.
I mean, if Bill Hicks got canned from the Letterman show for suggesting pro-lifers do their stuff in the graveyard instead of the abortion clinics, I would bet this company in Kansas would never print anything bad about our beloved war. Just look at their ad.

I just loved that Hicks comment about how supportive we'd be of pro-lifers if they were using crowbars on caskets to keep people from going to the afterlife.

What we need is a media. The love of money is the root of all evil. And that's what we're fighting.

13. Maybe I should start my own business of making custom made checks
I wonder how much the start up costs would be. I wonder if that site would mind peace signs and make love not war on those checks. I don't know your age but maybe some Peter Max art would be cool.

14. Send them in those "No Postage Necessary" junk mail envelopes
At least they will be useful for once and you don't have to worry about pissing anyone off who has access to your accounts
